Don't get too excited just yet, though, folks. No orgasms, you hold onto that jizzism.

I watched about half of it. I'll save the rest for later.

12 seconds of video... Two seconds of actual footage, how lame. Reminds me of them lame DNF teasers back in the day.
I have the feeling it's going to "play" something a bit like Wolfenstein... But that's just me.

There may be hope yet.

When John Carmack made that famous quote, I'm surprised he didn't also say "keycards".

I just don't get it. Looking at it, it feels absolutely nothing like a Doom game at all. None of the cornerstones of the franchise or the design ideas really seem to be at play at all. It's just kind of a generic orangey-brown post apocalyptic thing with people wearing raggedy trashy clothing ala Max Max.
I mean, I still don't have high hopes the game will be any good yet, but at least in what we have seen up to this point they're at least staying somewhat true to the audio and visual iconography of the series. Even if that argument can be made that is simply mere fan service.

So it's gonna be like the original Doom with more blood and modern weapon handling? How is that a bad thing?

You mean the optional fatalities that you don't have to use?

Just as long as, if they even have them in Doom 4, they don't become really silly like in Serious Sam, where you can literally daisy chain an entire group of enemies with fatalities one after the other. That was just dumb.

Maybe because Brutal Doom isn't true Doom?
Brutal Doom has a level of silliness that doesn't belong in Doom IMO.

Basically someone on Steam forums asked how to do a translation for Strife and I poked around to see if it would be easy enough. Thanks for MetHy for the quick translation so I could do my proof of concept.

While Brutal Doom is probably considered by some or many to not be "true Doom" (I'd argue the same thing about Duke Plus as pertains to Duke Nukem 3D), that leak was as far away from Doom as Doom can get.

It's a gameplay mod, but 99% of the game is still the same.
