Actually a reuse of the original game ideas would be interesting, with jump boots and grappling hooks to perform acrobatic movements, taking robot (enemies) parts to gain access to locked rooms, and fighting proton's robots and biological experiments.

It's a picture of Chris Pollit showing off his portfolio to some visitors, during the first week of the Interceptor Opening in Aalborg.

I'll take your word for it though

Yes - Chris was just showing previous work he did to some visitors.
You can find this particular model on his portfolio, http://cpollittart.co.uk

How is he getting that kind of detail into the skin Fred? is he starting off with DDOs flesh preset? anyway, its incredible!

No, It's pretty much just in the sculpt. I didn't use any filters aside from slight diffuse details.
Most of it is to do with how you bake and texture the model, along with good UV space. He's 2048 in that shot.
I did a breakdown of my workflow for that model from other requests, so if you want more specific info you can check out the thread, it has a couple of tutorials about the skin: http://www.polycount...ad.php?t=123076

Nice to see an Interceptor dev posting on the Duke forums. Hope the game rocks!
That said, I hope that quote about Duke being "gritty" and serious, and the talk of a Duke game with "no strippers" isn't true for this game. That would give Duke the same tone as every other generic action shooter like Gears of War. Plus incorporating elements like strippers and off-kilter humor is a big part of the unique flavor and charm of the Duke franchise. Can still be more serious than DNF, but Duke needs to be a devil-may-care funny one-liner machine, and there does need to be some acknowledgement of his pervy ways.
He has personality and is an antihero, not the standard 100% altruistic hero. Him having vices and being lewd etc is a big part of why the character works.

Duke 3D is also mostly known for that one strip club in the Red Light District level. Though there's also the XXXstacy porn shoot level etc, and some babes here and there. Not saying Duke Mass Destruction would need more than one strip club, I think one would work well.
The Interceptor dev mentioned that he'd like a Duke game with no strippers and a serious tone, that's why I mention strippers specifically. But I do take it as a larger topic of "babes" in Duke in general, I do think that aspect of lighthearted sexuality should be in the mix somehow, even if not always at a strip club specifically.
I get the impression this game might be set mostly in space or other planets, but if it does have levels on Earth they would need to give it the flavor and personality that Duke 3D made famous, and I'd say including strippers in a level would be part of that. As for including babes and Duke's pervy vices in the space portions... I'm sure they'd figure something out. Even if just Duke talking to a woman in a video screen or something leading to a pervy joke, ha I dunno.
Just don't give up I say, keep the pervyness and humor alive. Don't make Duke generic action game number 3000.

I could totally see Duke with alien strippers.

I think the sexual stuff can be present but should be a minority, Duke 3D didn't place all that much emphasis on it, it should be background to the alien busting action. I also don't think it's really all that necessary, either, certainly Duke 64 managed to 'survive' without it, whether you thought it was a major loss or not.
