Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction "All Out Of Gum aka Gearbox foils Interceptor's plan again"

...I wish everyone at Interceptor the best of luck, and I hope they make a damn good Duke Nukem game. It's safe to say, no matter how one rates theROTT remake, that it must have been a very humbling and insightful experience for the team, and with that knowledge they can only do better from here. Obviously someone thinks they can, since they were handed the keys to the Duke franchise, and though some of the details we have so far are potentially dubious, I am still excited to see what they offer up.

I was thinking you were decently credible until I read this. Have you literally not played any of the prior Alien(s) games?

What's there to be ashamed of? These sort of assclowns only show up during Interceptor threads and they get worse every time.

>Come up with idea
>Talk about it
>Everyone thinks it sucks
>Unable to defend your position
>People come down on you harder
>Act like you're "one of them" except even worse, and derail the fucking thread
Sad thing is in the days of smart phones this shit is easier than ever, just tether the damn thing and post Bruno's dick. BAM, no need to spend 15+ minutes finding a working Russian proxy server.

Notice LongBow3000's post count? 65.
Member Fresch's post count? 67.
Member Frederik Schreiber's post count? 2.
That's a whopping 134 posts in twelve years.
Wow, what an active member of our community. Glad he could bless us with eleven posts a year on average.
My contention has never been any of these things;
1: That Fred has posted anywhere in the Duke community.
2: That Fred has opened BUILD.
3: That Fred played Duke3D in 1996.
My contentions are:
1: Fred claiming he was an active member. He wasn't. He was tertiary. (I'll even give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Maybe he just meant he had posted before.)
2: That he was a mapper. Unless you can provide evidence of this, you just sound phony baloney. Why bring it up?
Now fuck off, shitposter.

Why not see where they want to go with it before condemning them?
It might be a fun game at the end of the day. Which games are about having fun.
I do not really get why people are getting all colon crucified over the fact that Interceptor is making a Duke game.
Yeah ROTT had some major stuff wrong with it at launch but hopefully they learned from it and patched it out.

I feel you man, I tried to get some discussion going but people seem adamant on attacking each other. And yeah I broke what I said earlier about not posting in this thread anymore, meh. Oh well...

...does this kind of thing happen every time a new Duke game is announced? There's only 13 more days until a new announcement, or something along those lines, don't come apart now

I'm honestly carefully inquisitive about this Duke game. Then again, that could be said about all the upcoming games anyway. Time will tell.
But I will say you one thing. This thread is full of shitposters.

It's like they have to fit all the BS that occured during the wait for DNF into the time until the reveal.
All we need now is some space cadet to start predicting the release date based on his secret illuminati calendar he bought from the back of a comic book.
I honestly think they all went kennel mad sat there on the 3DR forums for a decade waiting for that damn game.

yeah i am doubting that leap, ROTT felt like a good mod at best, certainly not a game you'd pay for

Maybe in the sense that they should've had more new content but they had the right idea of keeping consistent with what made the original so entertaining. No sense in trying to make it like Call of Duty or Halo since fans of that will just play THOSE games, anyway.

Interceptor has the potential to make a good Duke game. However, I feel they have significant issues with programming and, to a lesser extent, level design. The level design shouldn't be too much of a problem in a top-down game, but their bad programming skills could make it or break it. If even 1/4 of your skills are bugged out and have optimization issues, that fucks over the game bigtime and turns people off. I'm cautiously optimistic about it, but I won't be surprised if there are lots of bugs and broken things when it's first released.
I understand that people are upset about Frederick's over exaggerating, but Interceptor released a retail product, which I feel is a better way to judge them than "he said A Thing once that turned out not to be 100% true".

It may not be to us, but it sure as hell is to many people. There is a huge world outside of "oldschool FPS game community" or "Apogee fans". If you polled people on sites like GameFaqs about RoTT, I doubt any of them would've heard of it before the remake was announced.

The wording in your post seems to make it sound like RoTT isn't obscure to those of us that aren't huge oldschool FPS game fans.
