it probably doesnt help at this point xd
but there are more angles of the dog statue than the ones in the final game

Thanks, Ninja. I could only extract two dog sprites of the betas. Maybe I did something wrong who knows...

Alright, I discussed about this with mxrtxn about dog's shape. I wasn't fond of this. So I tried to improve the voxel as much as I could. I think now it looks good and is more faithful to alpha sprites shown above.

great contributions here :)

while playing the first level I noticed that that only the deactiviated dome light is a voxel... when it activates (pachinko machines) it switches between voxel and sprite.....

The voxel trash bin came out wonderfully, did you use the rotation tool in Magica Voxel to make the spinning door of the trash bin?

I like your version of the dog, However, I like my version better but that´s ok :)


One important detail:

The game uses the same sprite for both lights, so when voxelized they will have the same orientation, and the sprite you see upsidedown won´t be upsidedown in voxel mode.

in vanilla SW voxels cannot be turned upside down unlike sprites, you are correct. (except in BuildGDX though, which is nice)
also since the "off" sprite for them is also used as the "light facing backwards" sprite, the light can never actually be off in voxelized form

these arent glitches because its vanilla behavior for SW, so we maybe just have to deal with it for now

As Ninjakitty wrote, there's no really fix for that. I would recommend creating maphacks for those, so those beacons would face the walls... That basically means more work for me. Unless someone of you wanna help as it's not really that hard to do.

Already tried out the new voxel trashcan and in game it looks freaking great! I do agree that maphacks will probably be needed though.

OK, I talked to you about that algae plant. IMO it's too flat. What I have seen on the internet, those plants have their stalks (if they are called stalked) distributed around a central point. In your case, it heavily feels like they only go to the left and right side.

i agree with Dzierzan on the algae, definitely a bit flat and ultimately there's not much differentiating it from the non-3d sprite
the sticky bombs look good but the spikes feel a bit more like stubs and the lighting might need some retouching. lighting is rotated in one of your frames for some reason and detail seems lost to the point its hard to tell those are sticky bombs looking at the seppuku screenshot alone

the other two voxels look great imo

Regarding the algae... It's difficult to judge from the screenshot, but I would also make it more "3D"

The sticky bomb in the center of the image certainly needs a retouch (it has its own sprite), it is basically the original voxel rotated in 45 degrees.
