@Kristian Joensen:
I read about the mod tools on their facebook page, I think. Under the user comments. The problem is that after the screwed giveaway of SW-Classic you have to scroll through thousands of posts about errors when people tried to get the key for that giveaway. I gave up after 3 minutes.

I will look through the web, later.

I have nothing against Europeans, but I swear they just don't 'get' American action unless their name is Arnold Schwarzenegger or Dolph Lundgren.

Good thing Shadow Warrior is all about Asian action, then.

It's totally Americanised. Down to the fact that it can't distinguish a difference between Japanese and Chinese. Typical dumb American stuff.

Instead of making Lo Wang a tough edgy hard-boiled badass, now he's just a soft everyman with an eye for the politically correct. Or for example Aardvark Software (a United Kingdom company) adding fruity dance music to Duke Nukem Total Meltdown.

That is the joke!

According to 3D Realms, that is.

The Brits have always been pussies when it comes to portraying red-blooded men's men.

Yeah sorry Jimmy that's a pretty silly point to make, I mean how are you even defining 'American' action? There's been nothing like the 80s action films since...well..the 80s themselves. The same goes for 90s shooters; we're not gonna see a game like the original SW or Duke again (apart from the mod community) It's been said but sadly many developers seem to mistake old-school for Serious Sam (which is not old-school, since it's pretty much a back-pedalling game whereas Doom was way more fast paced)

I'm not implying that the Europeans can't make badass stuff, but Dr. No has an entirely different tone of badassery than Magnum Force.

Why are you comparing 1962's 'spy' movie with 1973's 'cop' movie?

They are both action films with leads who are badass and doing a sort of investigation. Yet they're completely different in just about every way. Dr. No is obviously British in nature, while Magnum Force is decidedly American. It's just an air to the film, you can feel it. At least, I can. Later Bond movies had too much Hollywood influence for me and it felt like it wasn't Bond anymore because it didn't feel British to me. These are just my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Or maybe it's just the autism kicking in.

Well feel free to refute me with legitimacy, are there any European action films that even come close to They Live or Die Hard or Rambo or Terminator or countless others?

Black - Spain
Le Femme Nikita - French (not to be confused with the TV abortion)
City of God - Brazil
and so on,
main difference, needs some brains to watch

None of those are really American 80's style action flicks.

No shit Sherlock

The set of movies I posted are simply non US action movies, not date specific, with the simple intent to show that fluent action happens in non US movies.
Once you are over the 'reading' sub hurdle, (unless you understand a given language), you may even see what I see.

Hollywood focuses on action and dramatizes it, yet I think this style is not limited to the 80's.

You're missing my entire point. My point isn't that "ONLY AMERIKKKA KEN DO ACTION", it's that American action has it's own flair, just as European action has it's own flair and so on and so forth. You did more to prove my point than to disprove it.

I thought this thread was about PC-ness and wanting wangs...and discussing some sort of video game-type contraption.

80's India
http://www.freshupno.../Action&page=17
as in the US format except a cool looking woman was the object or cause of the action

80's Hong Kong
The Killer
followed with like 100 movies like that, not to forget all those Kung-Fu flicks

Mad Max - Australia

I am neither trying to disprove or prove your point, I am simply peddling other movies we could watch, while we wait for SW.

@ Engel220, Green has not issued and update, so it's his fault some fans are slightly off topic

We know we are the elite. We don't need to tell that to each other every day. And if some dev thinks he must make a game which is not good enough for us then so be it (not talking about SW, just in general). He isn't worthy then anyways.

Hell Comes to Frogtown is pretty much the American Mad Max.

After I had written that I thought about editing it with "Yes, I know, PC stands for Political correctness, but I think PC-ness sounds great for the master race's descritption."

Hah, ha, ha, ha, you are here to ram down your points!

Yes, you have a point, an Americanized dooms day scenario, not only is the planet demolished, but ruled by mutants, guys are impotent you name it ... in this case, the movie borrowed from Captive Women (1952) and The Last Women on Earth (1960), were Mad Max played in a more realistic anarchy type setting, so I think it's a matter of taste, I prefer Mad Max over Frogtown.

it's on the web now from E3, my fav SW screen shot
