This has already been covered in the thread. They are basing it on JFDuke and will be releasing the source code with their changes.

Too bad, it's JFDuke3D port with the game, you will know if you read whole thread before post this...
But, at least that port is updated, for just click and play, you can still use its GRP data with eduke32 or whatever else to run the game if you want.
And I hate my timezone.

I will be getting it regardless if there are a lot of people playing multiplayer

Also, the gameplay they showed was kind of dull. If they want to attract a new, younger audience, they need to show some gameplay other than 'point hitscan weapon at enemy and hold firebutton', like the shrinker or freezer weapon, jumping across rooftops in LA Rumble, and set pieces such as the San Andreas fault line or Rocket exploding in Launch Facility.
They probably should have also mentioned the incredibly large amount of high quality user made maps (which should be compatible). I'm sure a big reason why young gamers might buy doom is to check out some of the spectacular recent maps and mods for it.

The colors in the trailer is just Devolver being all hipster like it's Hotline Miami. The game looks as it always did IRL.
And yeah, in general the guys at Interceptor thought the trailer was pretty MEH for a Duke trailer, but it's the game that counts!

Also the game looks much much better than what appears in the trailer.

You can say that again. My own HRP v5 trailer gives a better portrayal of the action. Who captured the game footage for the devolver trailer?

I sense development envy.
