He probably thinks someone over here hacked him so now he's filling the forum with shit as a revenge.

Rockman, there's a limit, you know. Obviously, NO ONE here likes the crap you post. If you were such a nice person, you wouldn't want everyone to feel like shit while reading your posts. Think...WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? He would crucify himself and leave us the fuck alone.

You got a good point dude, I apologized already in the Rockman Ban Topic. Also I like talking to you guys regardless of how you treat me or my friend Nukemdave, we are still a good wholesome community for DNF. We're kinda like a family now that I realize it, a dysfunctional one though haahaha... :)

Well let's keep continuing to talk about DNF in a more intelligent good behaved positive way now that is...

Finally I can see some light in the tunnel, finally you insulted me. It's not quite there yet but it's something.

You may like to talk to us, but ask yourself : is it like that for us?

What are you getting at? You can kiss George Broussard's ass all you want, but you're still not getting DNF.

Ok thanks man.

No problem I understand now, if it's going to bother people like you then I'd rather say my comments where it won't cause trouble.

On a holiday? I mean they could, but I imagine they would want to be with their families.

Right. Hey if you like the game(which you definitely will) then by all means get your PC upgraded, otherwise join the console boys like me or play with your friends.

HAH.. if you knew more about my computer than you would have laughed at what you just said. ( I have a laptop now.. it is mediocre) One of these days I'm gonna invest in a new computer, just to play DNF, even if it happens to be 7 years in the future.

Something like that until he actually decides to release DNF.

A 3D Realms Christmas Carol
George B is visited by his dead partner, Scott M, explaining that he'll be visited by 3 ghosts later that night.

First ghost that appears takes him back to his childhood and how he was back then.
Second ghost that appears shows him DNF being worked on and impatient fans who want the game to be released.
The final ghost that appears takes him to the future showing what the world would be if DNF never got released. He and everyone else at 3D Realms was killed for not releasing the game sooner.

George wakes up next morning screaming, goes to 3D Realms and gets DNF out the door to everyone in the world and says: "Merry Fucking Christmas, here's DNF finally. Now go play it and leave 3D Realms in peace."

Five days with no griping? That ain't right!

If '09 isn't the year (and it doesn't appear that it will be), feature creep will require a restart yet again.

Grrr!!!

DNF is like life itself. There are good/bad years in DNF. For a Christmas people wish for a dreams come true. And on 1st of Jan they wish for a next year to be better.

So, we're still here. But 2009 will be THE YEAR OF DNF. I can feel it. :)

That's the spirit dude!! You're damn right this will be the year for DNF!! Always bet on Duke!!

P.S. Most definitely there will be no more restarts, it's about time they're finally nearly done with the game and release it this year eventually!! :)

I am curios what would make it think it does appear it will? I mean how doesn't it appear it will?

Also curios where are you looking out for information? I think you might be missing out on some small but nice little tidbits every once in a while.

I see the same tidbits of information that everybody else does. There's no game, no demo, no trailer, no announcement and no "official" media or hype machine. Yes, yes, there's stuff like the holiday wallpaper, the JH footage, the thumbnails & the teaser, but all these things are more of the "yeah, but these things were never made for the public, but we decided out of the goodness of our hearts to go ahead & put them out anyway." category. Until there's info & media that's released for no other reason than as part of the official DNF hype machine, none of it means anything. Then there's GB's comments on the Shack & Twitter, but they're as meaningless now as they were ten years ago unless, again, there's some real movement towards release.

In order to be out this year, a game of this significance would have to start genuine, official hype of an honest-to-Buddha release drive sometime later this quarter - and that's to make a holiday release realistic. I see nothing as of yet. Until there's regular media, previews, articles, interviews - you know, like would come with the upcoming release of an actual GAME - all these "tidbits" are nothing more than masturbation, and as we've seen so many times over the years, turn out to actually mean diddely shit.

However, to be fair, until this first quarter is up, that's merely pessimism talking, so I'll thus amend my statement to give that much time before declaring yet another busted year.

If, however, the year does come and go with nothing once again, I will stand by my opinion that they will have to restart to be competitive. The teaser didn't look all that impressive last year, and by then will have been two years old.

edit: honest-to-Buddha - lol!

"I see the same tidbits of information that everybody else does."

Given the list you gave after this, I can tell you that is not the case.

There are small tidbits from time to time you miss out on if you only look at those sources of information. You just need to know where to look for them. If interested PM me. But I must warn you, by your standards some of this is probably in the "microscopic" category.

I disagree about the teaser not looking "all that impressive". But that is a discussion for another day. Otherwise I don't think DNF needs nearly an as long hype time as other games. 3 months but me very short, but if any game can do with such a short hype time DNF is it. Knowing 3DR they just might be going with some crazy(is it so crazy?) experiment like that.

The burden isn't on me to read between the lines and decipher microscopic tidbits of hints of winks alluding to rumors. There's either genuine, reliable information or there isn't, and that's on them. And if said reliable information has not surfaced in the next few months, it's still of my opinion that a 2009 release will not happen.

#718

I am not talking about reading between lines or rumors or anything like that at all. You can do that if you want or not do that if you want. I am talking about less high profile avenues of information. Typically it will only be small tidbits posted in such places, but sometimes some things can be pretty interesting(depending on your point of view).

George isn't the only one working on the game.

Individual 3DR developers have been posting small tidbits here and there for years. They leave the company, then new ones come in and do the same thing. Then they leave, and so on. Or George decides to start over, or changes his mind, or whatever.

Bottom line is there's nothing official from the head honchos. Until that changes, nothing from anybody else matters, as history has shown.

Nope, he didn't learn.

Also wrong thread.

And if you say the same thing every year, eventually you'll be right, and jeez you're going to be annoying when that happens.
