And what about Max Payne (1st one)? Who can forget his memorable visage? In fact it was modelled after Remedy's founder and storywriter of Max Payne Sami Järvi (Sam Lake).

Posted Image Posted Image

EDIT: Look at him and ask me why do I despise new appearance of Max so much. :P

To my recollection, pretty much every VA and actor in the original Rise Of The Triad was on the 3D Realms/Apogee dev team in some shape or form - even George Broussard as the Triad Enforcer.

Well to my knowledge, only the enemies' faces were modelled after Apogee employees.

I was also thinking about Max Payne when making the post. The difference here is that Max is your average hard working guy before he loses everything, and of course he gets pissed off and goes on a rampage, his face and body reflect that very well. However the HUNT team are strong tough military trained guys, so simply getting your average office worker and sticking their face on a model isn't going to cut it.

Kinda hard not to support something you really want. Yeah?

What are you talking about, the second video contains over ten seconds of extra footage!

Anyway, pinning the "classic" label on RotT is just ludicrously creative.

Of course there aren't actors* hired, because -as previously mentioned and as in the original ROTT- the characters are modeled after teammembers. And so it was made in this remake on purpose.

And from what I know and have seen the models and faces are much better ingame than in the set up shot with the soldier on the shoulder. I am sure some of the next screenshots will show that.

* )except for the actresses that actually got hired :P

The picture with the Enforcer on the shoulder was bad on purpose. It was something a team member photoshopped to create a smile on an early model, and pasted the enforcer in there.
Internally we had a great laugh over it, and decided to share it on Facebook for people to caption, as a small fan competition.
Thats all there was to it. The ingame models look way better :P

I did not watch the entire thing. My humbles, and most enduring apologies. How could I have missed it. Posted Image

That said, the model does look like shit - but that has nothing to do with fresch's face.

This made me giggle in the middle of the night.

The HUNT team is tracing the source of yesterday's strange transmission from San Nicolas Island.

Intel reports that it's coming from what appears to be a dormant volcano... no... that can't be right...

Wait... we're getting an image now...!

Yes, this is an excuse to show you the first in-game screenshot of the D.R.U.N.K missile!

Though still in the early stages of testing, the D.R.U.N.K's two fire modes are already a "blast" to play with. Stay tuned for more!

The environment on that shot looks both nice on its own, and is quite reminiscent of the original game's graphics. I'd say, good job! :P

Even though Interceptor is spread across 17 different countries, we often meet to work together localized. When we meet we set up internal livestreams, so the rest of the team can join us virtually. Here is a snippet of an internal livestream we had running Saturday, where our UI Coder Asle, and our Game Director Frederik, met at his place in Denmark to work on the game.

Love that detail mapping. Not every game has detail mapping like that. Wolfenstein (2009) did and that was one of my favorite things about it... glad this follows in its footsteps to to speak.

Would you be sold otherwise if there were no barrels? Would HL be HL without crates? Exactly. lol

Today is 12-12-12.

Did you know that originally this was supposed to be the date that our reboot of Rise of the Triad went gold?

However, since we started this project we've gone from a UDK game to a fully licensed Unreal Engine 3 title, been approved for Steam and the Steamworks SDK, had the game playable at numerous industry events, and nearly doubled the size of the team working on the game as well as the size of the game itself!

None of this could have been possible without the amazing support you have given us since day one and the support our family and friends all gave us before you even knew the new ROTT existed!

That being said, if the production diaries, developer blogs, time lapse vids and piles of screenshots just aren't taking you deep enough into our development, today we're releasing the first ROTTCast podcast!

In this first ROTTcast, Frederik Schreiber, Terry Nagy, Dave Oshry and Leon Zawada discuss "The Apogee Legacy"

http://youtu.be/Za6og59SX04

The .mp3 can also be downloaded here:

https://dl.dropbox.c...s/Rottcast1.mp3

For an even deeper and very personal look at how this whole thing came together, you can also check out Dave's latest blog, "In the Thick Of It"

http://bloggalog.com...he-thick-of-it/

Your support means the world to us as we press on toward our release in 2013 and continue to create a game that gets bigger and better every day - thanks to fans like you! Let's just hope the world doesn't end in 9 days!

Anyone else get the overwhelming urge to punch their screen at 00:33 seconds into this?

And again at 00:43.

Fresch, I like how you and the team are trying to do something old school and bring back a good old game, but why do you insist on coming across as such a dickhead?

The cigar does not suit you because you look like and are a pussy.

It depends on how you define pussy.

If you define it as:
"Someone who has achieved to build a studio with a full UE3 license, making the first non-id game that was featured at QuakeCon and is proud of and and shows off. Although it is not everybody's taste he already managed to get himself a name in the gaming press (hairstyle icon)".

But ...

onen could also define pussy as:

"Some absolutely random dude who has achieved absolutely anything significant, so that he compensates it with some random ramblings on a fourm while hiding behind a nick and some Predator-Avatar."

EDIT: People know my name (stefan fueger) which can easily be deducted from my nick and is used in other public places. And when I post a photo of mine people said that I really look like in that drawing. Just saying before anybody says I am hiding too.

To get those announcements was due to very solid old friendships between Apogee and id Software founders. - At least try to be realistic here. Posted Image
But hey, whatever , enjoy the ride - I'll wait until Interceptor produced something. Posted Image

I'm getting really sick of all the "jokes" or whatever about people's appearance surrounding this project. Why even give a shit? The game matters, not the dickheads' look.

So what. You think they had shown it (friendship or not) if the game wasn't good enough to open the Con even in it's alpha state? At least think twice about it. :)

Ronan is my name not a nick, I find excessively vain people annoying, if you are trying to make it out that I am jealous then you are very wrong, I don't value money and 15 minutes of fame like you obviously do so much. You are not special because you have something to do with making games. You are not sending men to the moon, you are making a game, get over yourself.

I have achieved many things in my life that I am proud of and I am still quite young, but that is none of your business of anyone else's.

If I took a photo of myself like that I would expect a bit of stick for it too, talking about what Fresch does for a living is irrelevant.

Hiding full identity on the internet is wise. I am not trying to sell something and get recognised like you, so comparing how you show your full name and likeness to my situation as a random poster makes for an idiotic argument.

You are rightfully angry as I have insulted your friend, well tough shit.
