Also, don't forget our PAX Party, where you will be able to play Rise of the Triad, while getting drunk! ;)

They better have a cheat code for a permanent Shrooms mode. ;)

The only problem I have with Interceptor is that they were using the Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded Facebook page to hype people up for ROTT, which made people think it was going to be something Duke related. Other than that, I wish them well with ROTT.

I must say the model looks very nice! Is his arm entirely robotic or does it only look like that?

Regarding the split missile shot, my first thought at the posture of the Strike Team guy (the one in the green tunic is the Strike Team, right?) was "There he is, stop him!".

This suits me I loved the latest Wolfenstein. If this could be to it the way ROTT was to the original Wolf3D that would be awesome.

Especially since ROTT was initially suppose to be a sequel to Wolf 3d.

Wow, what a shitty intro... Screaming "RETRO" interlaced logo(why? PC was progressive since late 80s) with a completely out of place metal music.

Yeah that's pretty bad. It seems in the eyes of Interceptor... modern music = metal and metal only!

Based on a new "Goin' Down The Fast Way" music will have synths heavily involved.

Metal is lame. Given exceptions are Iron Maiden and Motorhead. Anyone else will have to submit an application of not being lame.

@Captain Awesome: Sorry for downvoting your post. I misclicked. I wanted to upvote you for mentioning Motörhead as an exception (although Lemmy always states that they don't do heavy metal but rock'n'roll).

Metal in and of itself is not lame. It's just that - usually - it doesn't quite work for covering old game songs. Usually. IMO.

Didn't think that since 'ROTT' wasn't a sequel, therefore I assumed he was talking about 'Graphical' and 'Gameplay' evolution between the games.

Agreed. I don't know how many times I thought metal was just so out of place in various things. IM and Motor all the way!

Metal is way too oversaturated in our culture right now. It's just as bad as this crappy pop music. For every good metal band, there are two hundred shitty ones.

I wonder if you can even list ten metal bands that you believe are shitty.

Maybe we should go someplace else? Can comeone create "Discussing metal music" thread and move all the messages there? That would be fantastic.

Absolutely agreed.
If you want to update that intro, at least update it entirely and make it look different.

Actually it works wonders on doom music remakes but that's probably because the old doom music was based on metal in lots of instances.

In the case of the Apogee theme it doesn't work because it was never really a metal theme. (They did it in a jazzy-rock form for one of the games back in the day) But it's really supposed to be a symponic orchestral piece. THAT would have sounded awesome.

Those weapon renders look nice, but I'm not a big fan of them. A bit too busy and futuristic. They looked like they've been ripped from Quake 4 or somesuch game.
