Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and personally Mr. Deviance's criticisms of both Fresch, Interceptor (and now even myself!) over the years helped shape how I handle Interceptor's messaging - so if anything you guys should thank him for his harsh crits. As a rule of thumb, I never trust nor look too deep at what pr people have to say.

That's what primarily ticked me off and then as I read through his explications and his attempts to convince the guy he was talking to that checkpoints are better than quick saves, he suddenly pulls out the most fucking obnoxious reasoning I've seen in a long time "This is America, you can hate our game all you want"
When I got to that point I couldn't actually fathom that what he just wrote that, being a pr and shit, I would have expected him to know better than post such stuff as if it's supposed to actually be funny or make sense.
He could have very well said that checkpoints work better than quick saves because... "america fuck yeah"

Dave dude, I understand you are selling your house soon for this game and if I wasn't cynical I would actually say wow I'm impressed that you have so much dedication to see this game making it big.
But because I am a cynical guy, I will have to say that if you actually TRULY sold your house to fund the development of this game,
1. you are either are either rich enough to afford to sell your house without having to worry that you will go on the streets if this game flops and fails to sell as much as your team is predicting.
2. You are bullshitting and you aren't actually selling your house, you are just trying to impress people around here with your dedication to this project.
3. You are a crazy irresponsible suicidal person that is risking ending up on the streets under the fucking bridge for a fucking remake of a game that almost 80% of the gamers today haven't heard about.
Your game better be fucking legendary which after I've seen gameplay of it, will surely not be in this big sea of 1000 games that come out each year on multiple platforms.

And if you aim so high with this game, you would certainly not be so desperate as to try and advertise this game to a forum like this where most of it's users are a few disgruntled DNF fans and old apogee/3dreams fans like myself.
I'm pretty sure that if everybody on this forum bought your game, you would still not get to make enough profit to buy a new house.

It leaves me completely untouched to hear that you've completely changed your job strategy because of me and it makes it a little sad that I am the only reason for which you decided to make an account on this forum.

It's interesting when I get lectured about caring on the internet by somebody that seems to care so much about what I post and has nothing but direct insults to post towards me, every single time.

I wonder what is the point in releasing a shareware post release?
Isn't the whole concept of shareware based on the idea that first you play a small chunk of free shit and then if it managed to hook you, you will want to buy the full game in order to resume the rest of the game + more features on top of the ones already present in the shareware?
The thing is, I bet they won't release a demo before the game because(to quote Dave) they sold their houses, cars, wives and their rubber ducks and now they can't afford to have anybody see this game for free and risk losing customers if they decide it's not the game they were looking for.
If that's the idea and it should be since this is the general idea these days among publishers and dev studios, then they should not forget that if anybody really wants a demo and doesn't get it, they can always torrent the whole game and try it and maybe decide after they beat it, that they don't have the cash to support the devs right now but maybe later unless they forget about it...
I don't really want Dave to sleep on a bench so we have to accept a no demo. I'm fine with that.

Pre-order is not a mechanism that allows you to experience the game without paying for it first.
Pre-oders are a great way of buying on hype alone which is something I would never do.
Remember how many people pre-ordered DNF and the majority felt cheated when they saw what the game actually was.
At least have a company that you trust that has released previous quality games before you decide to pre-order a new game from them which you trust will be good because it's made by the same people that had already proven themselves.
In the case of Interceptor software, their first game will be this one and based on this one they will either gather a good reputation or all end up sleeping in various phone booths if we are to believe what Dave said about the selling of houses and assets just to fund this game.

Personally, I think it would have been awesome for us to have a demo out pre-release or better yet a closed beta would have been amazing so we could have gotten serious community feedback on features - but again it's one of those things that we just never had the time/money to do.

A NEW shareware episode post-release gives people who didn't buy into the hype pre-release something to try for free that will hopefully entice them to buy the full product AND it gives the early adopters who pre-ordered the game or bought it on day one new content for FREE. I think that's a good deal on both sides.

I'm also going to push for a free weekend on Steam in the first few weeks of release. I want us to have the best chance of a big multiplayer community from the get go. Fingers crossed and all that.
