Words on bathroom walls is a positive representation of schizophrenia. And also a very heartwarming film. Some stuff is overdramatized/fake but definitely more of these films need to be out there.

Rewatched Preacher season 1 over the weekend, as I stopped watching a long while back somewhere in season 2 and figured I'd start from the beginning.

Season 1 is funny near the end, season 2-3 is some of the hardest I ever laughed, but 4 is a real slog to get through. Kept waiting for it to get good and it just never did. Overall a good show, though.

Just finished watching season 4 last night, and I have to admit that while I liked it I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous seasons. All up though it was a good show. Will probably have to check out the comics when I get a chance.

I think Rogen and co put all their eggs in the Boys basket once that got greenlit and left a skeleton crew to finish off Preacher, which never did so well ratings-wise. The Boys is great too.

Yeah, that makes sense for why season 4 'had run out of steam' as one reviewer put, which is a shame really as it is might have ended more strongly with more focus on it. But yes, The Boys was pretty damn enjoyable throughout (especially once I'd learnt that Garth Ennis was involved in the creation).

Watch all superheroes must die 1+2

Very good extremely low budget indie horror/superhero flicks.
I really hope a third one comes out.

Just watched Run Hide Fight with my wife tonight. Basically Die Hard in a school shooting scenario. It's no Die Hard of course, but it's pretty good. I was sucked in. I really liked it actually. Recommend. Strong start for Ben Shapiro's new movie studio.

I will make sure to not watch that lol.
His politics are good sometimes, but doesn't change he's a zionist racist pos.

A combination of a famous indie filmmaker and a great metal band.
It's in 3 parts.

I don't care what he is with regards to the movie. It was already a thing before The Daily Wire picked it up for distribution and his views have nothing to do with it. It's a good film. Pirate it if you don't want to give The Daily Wire money. That is, if you can handle his name being on the screen for a few seconds with courtesy credit of one of the three Executive Producers. If not, I'm sure we've got a fainting couch for you...

Ill pirate it if i see its good enough.
Realistically all i need to do is make a live porno with him.
That'll hopefully reduce his viewings among republicans.

Been watching the Jason Trost movies he's a very good indie filmmaker.
Im not a sjw, and don't think the movie should be cancelled. Besides filming w/o consent.

Just anyone that like says such controversial things on the internet.
Should go to a mosque in lebanon and say controversial things.
Or a messianic military synagogue.

Maybe he'll learn to grow a pair himself.

My preschool teacher was murdered at 3 years old.
Had to deal with rape of family members at a young age.
Already overshared enough here of parental abuse
I hate sjws because their poverty is not real poverty, because i have seen my uncle succumb to it, and become permanently hospitalized, and my aunt succumb to it and not be able to take care of her own kids. Most of my family still is in poverty 0 are sjws.
Calling me soft is bad taste.
I joined the gayest division of the military for god sakes.
I think he's just a dry aged pussycat is all.

Who or what is a Polanski?

You said and I quote "I will make sure not to watch that" when you saw Ben Shapiro's name without any further information. That says it all. Unless you're walking that stance back.

Boycotting something because the money goes to someone i don't like
Isn't modern sjw bullshit

It existed long before you were alive.

Do you go to a store where the owner is an asshole?

Polanski raped a 13 year old girl and then fled to france where he won several oscars.

Have you watched winchester '73?

I like it as the story follows the rifle not the characters.

I think the artist should always be separated from his art. Personally I don't care if he's an asshole - Polanski directed so many classics, even if I'm not exactly fond of all his movies, that I couldn't care less what kind of person he is.

Anyway, I took a little break in watching every Star Trek show (currently at Next Generation 6th season, about 1/3 in) and watched WandaVision recently. It was on the same tier as the "good, but not great" Marvel movies I'd say, especially the first episodes highly stylized for TV shows from each decade worked really well for me. Now watching Mandalorian 2nd season, it seems to have the same "lack of bigger idea" syndrome that the first season suffered from, which resulted from generic/filler episodes midway through the season, but it's still enjoyable due to how well it's done. I'm also a sucker for the slower pace of the show most of the time that lets the audience enjoy all the little details and world building.

No, you said you wouldn't watch it. Not that you wouldn't pay for it. But after I told you to pirate it you said you might so you get off there. But at first you didn't even consider pirating it on my recommendation that it was a good flick. You saw a name and immediately dismissed the entire notion of having anything to do with it. That was your first knee-jerk reaction. And whatever, man. You do you. I don't care what you believe or what your values are. But that's the first impression you left me with with how you responded.

Never heard of Polanski and I have no idea what movies he made.

Seperating artist from the art eventually devolves into blaming companies like starbucks and hersheys for directly funding child slavery and slavery in general, but still buying starbucks and hersheys given the option not to. Blaming capitalism etc but not seeing yourself as part of the problem.

There are plenty of other artists i could escape into instead of supporting x, plenty of other stores offering similar services. I'm not saying it makes the buyer a horrible person or the same kind of person as the artist himself, but saying one is radically against x, but still financially supporting someone who has not shown regret for x, apologized for x, changed because they knew x was wrong, or suffered punishment for x. One is no longer radically against it.

Also @musicallyinspired.
I usually dont pirate things so such didn't come to mind.

I think this is pretty far fetched, but then again, even if I'd rather choose Fair Trade shit, I'm completely aware that a lot of my food, clothes etc. is the result of slavery labour in some remote location in a 3rd world country - but there's not much I can do about it, however dickish I would feel about such practice. Unless I make a deep investigation before buying anything about the company production line. As for separating the artist from the art, again it's completely different - as long as the art is threated by both the artist and the audience as not only "consumer good", but something more "spiritual". And once again, there's a lot of rapists and pedophiles in Hollywood, so that would mean again I'd have to make deep investigations on the whole crew's bios to check if there isn't some creep somewhere. Polanski made some really great movies which I'm happy to have watched (although I doubt he'd see a penny from it, as it was always in TV or some streaming service anyway).

@MusicallyInspired: I'm sure you've heard about his movies/watched some of them, just didn't pay attention to the name. Polanski directed such classics as "Rosemary's Baby", "Chinatown" or "Pianist".

I loved Polanski's horror films, but evidently he even abused the shit out of Sharon Tate and filmed her with other men, against her will. I guess he was getting off on doing the same to his actresses. Repulsion feels particularly bad in light of the allegations.

Then again, movies usually involve a lot of talented people besides the director, so you can still enjoy the writing, cinematography, lighting, acting, etc, "guilt-free".

The problem is most stuff bought does not require a deep investigation.
It's there right beneath the surface with little research needed.

Ignorance is bliss and such,
But at one point man should choose knowledge over the other.
Especially when such knowledge is easy to find.

Willful ignorance is not a good excuse these days.
Just because so many people choose ignorance over responsibility,
doesn't make ignorance justified.

If most people did choose to boycott such,
and the thought process that "where my money goes doesn't matter"
Wasn't evident.

There'd be significant positive societal changes.

Just got done binging the Witcher Netflix series all night long with the books fresh in my mind. I gotta say, Henry Cavill as Geralt is something that I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything else though was pretty jank. They added characters for no reason, race swapped and did this weird ass shit were they presented the story out of chronological order, which for someone fresh to the series I imagine was needlessly confusing.

Honestly, this first season does not leave me with much confidence for the second one.

TLDR conclusion: meh. I'll pass on the second season.

EDIT: Actually, the more I actually think about it the less I like it. They try and cram so much shit in so few episodes ( I can't even remember how many they were lol, 6-7? They all fucking blurred together.) That I really think a longer series in the correct chronological order would have been better than this shit.

Just watched 4 hours of "Zack Snyder's Justice League" and it definitely should have been a series. It's definitely more coherent than the original release version, and by far better visually with the director's love for HDR, strong contrasts (I suspect he might be into Build engine aesthetics as well) and mostly slow motion (which is obviously better than apeshit crazy cuts and nausea-inducing camera movement, but packing that shit into virtually any scene doesn't make it better). Still, it's a fuckin' 4 hour movie, which definitely could use some cuts. And the last 30 minutes are basically pointless length padding which I have no idea if will have any impact on future DC movies. Oh, the antagonist works far better when he is provided some context.

It still feels like a copy not only of a lot of Marvel's products, but basically of everything (from "300" to "LOTR").

Just watched the first episode of Loki, it was really fun. The TVA looks like 1970's Aperture Science from Portal 2, down to the posters.
And then there's this guy on the credits:

Posted Image

Yep, the square thing is a portal.
