Saw Lord of the rings: Return of the king Extended edition in the cinema's this weekend. God damn that was epic. :)
The movies have aged really well. Seeing the extended scenes on the big screen for the first time was something special as well.

Also, Mordor is metal as fuck. XD The part where the giant battering ram approaches and all the orcs are chanting its name (Grond! Grond!) gave me chills.

Watched Horror Express yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed it. Will have to check out Lee's and Cushing's work with Hammer Films as this is supposed to be highly reminiscent of the atmosphere in them.

Finally saw 1917 the cinematography have me a headache, it'd probably be better at a higher fps or something.

Pretty standard war movie imo, don't see why everyone liked it. Sure pulling off those camera tricks must've been difficult, but, definitely not for me.

Our TV has started to play up the last couple of months, so once it finally gives up and we get a new one I will be very keen to check out LOTR 4K, as it's been a few years since I've last seen them.

Just finished watching the final Harry Potter movie with my girlfriend. We've never watched them before and haven't read the books, but since Netflix put them up, we've been watching 1-2 per week during the last couple of weeks and finally finished. In general, they were not bad, better than I'd expect. My niece is all the way hooked on it and has her whole room postered over with different Snape images, who became her first crush, but personally neither my girlfriend nor me found him particularly special or interesting. I liked Luna, Sirius, Hagrid and Dobbie the most from the characters I guess, and "Prisoner of Azkaban" was by far my favourite part. Suppose the books would explain a lot of context that was just pushed in the movies, but then it's not that interesting for me to read them - however, I'll have some topic to discuss with my niece at the Christmas Eve at least.

I know it's a terrible cliché, but.. the books are much better. The character are more nuanced, the plot is more clearly explained, the humor is better etc.
And yeah, the later movies are kind of hard to follow without the context of the books. 100% agreed on Prisoner of Azkaban, that's easily the best adaptation.

Over the course of the last week, I watched the final episodes of 2 shows that I watched over the last couple of years: Rockford Files and The Odd Couple (the original TV show).

I love mystery shows and Rockford Files is one of the best in my opiniion. While It started very slowly and I ofthen found myself being bored by the whole thing, I found myself addicted to the show by the season 2 since the characters is so good you watch the shows more for interactions between Rockford and all his friends than for the plots (and plots is often good too). it's very realistic and cynical compared to the majority of a mystery shows. And while there's some bad/under-par episodes (most 2-parters for example), overall the show is worth watching, especially if you're into that sort of stuff.

The Odd Couple is the show I watched because of the 1968 Jack Lemmon-Walter Matthau movie, which looked like a perfect template for a tv sitcom. It' not really great but it's a good show to be distracted by for half-hour. At least it's funnier than what they're showing on tv today. DVDs is very cheap to order from Australia so I actually bought all the seasons and can't say I regret it.

So the issue is that I don't know what mystery show to watch next. I have Miami Vice on my list, the show that I started watching last summer and is currently on season 3 now.
Two shows that I never watched but kinda want to is Simon & Simon and Spenser: For Hire. Harry O also looks interesting, but I'm not going to spent 40 bucks on some DVD-Rs just to check whether the show is good or not.

I kinda wanted to watch Murder She Wrote since I watched it when I was in primary school. I tried to watch it today and couldn't get past the episode 1, since the main character is so corny and annoying it's ridiculous. I can't understand why I liked it before. On the other hand, I didn't find Columbo very interesting back then (thanks to 1,5 hour running time + commercials) but I when I got the chance to watch it now without commercials I slowly watched every episode of it and liked it very much.

Turned off wonder woman within the first 5 minutes.
Too much noticeable bad cgi.
Made me want to vomit.

Bad animation kills me.
Use practical effects for god fucking sakes.
Buy gymnasts.
Delay the movie.

Get rid of bad cgi it's 20 fucking 20.

I'd rather watch puppet master Nazis then stomach 2 more minutes of that garbage.

EDIT: Bad cgi is only good when the director obv knows it's bad cgi

I just finished the girl with the dragon tattoo
(American Version)
Rape/graphic sexual assault should be included in the mpaa or at least a warning of some kind.

It was a very good film besides that, not something I expected in a theatrical American film.

A bit fanfictiony to be honest w/ the hero

But otherwise suggest a watch.

Currently going through the Swedish series, starting w/ the original version, mainly want to see if the revenge part is more graphic, because seeing that asshole get it is a happy moment.

Also wanna see what becomes of the main character in the sequels.

EDIT:
The Swedish version has less graphic assault
More graphic revenge scene though so 10/10
Less fanfictiony

Finished the trilogy
10/10
Was very surprised the American version was the torture porny fetishy one.

Just mild sex scenes nudity in the other 2

But very good character development
Sound bad guy
Good story

Best movies I've seen in a while.

I have not read the books and will not read them cuz reasons, however, I don't think that's neccesary.

After finishing The Office, the wife and I just completed Parks & Recreation. While I believe The Office is technically a better show, I have to say I had more laugh out loud moments with Parks. Both were fun. Even if Parks is a leftist bubble bath. Ron is the man.

Yeah I also enjoyed PAR a lot myself. Ron afaik definitely steals the show.

I have just finished watching the first 4-5 Ip man movies (I'm not sure, they all kind of blend together). My dad loves chinese kung fu flicks and every time I get home I have been dragged into watching them. Send help!

Rewatched Preacher season 1 over the weekend, as I stopped watching a long while back somewhere in season 2 and figured I'd start from the beginning.
