Looks and sounds very impressive - sounds very ambitious but it's cool to see a new artist to the community; the shots already look like a new game so I'll definitly be keeping an eye on your progress

Really rad screenshots so far, I really like the City Block you have going on there. The overpass is especially nice. :3 A character with a Cybernetic arm sounds pretty rad too, I'd like to see where that goes. ^^

Painted HD style graphics would be awesome too, I've always loved games that try and pull that kind of thing off, and the game shots from your inspiration look awesome. I'm sure you'll pick just the right style and hammer it out. ^^ Can't wait to see how it progresses.

VERY nice looking stuff. Sounds pretty ambitious (8 chapters) but definitely worth the work. Also, it's pretty hard to NOT be inspired by RetroBlazer.

The screenshots look interesting, and the story sounds fairly original, at least for something on the build engine these days. If you think you're capable of doing some of the stuff in HD, then by all means do so. We've already got a fair share of 8-bit TCs, and although they're good, it would be refreshing to have things like sharp textures for example.

I agree, I'd say pick 32-bit or 8-bit and stick with it, whatever your heart desires, but having a bunch of 8-bit stuff stuck on some 32-bit stuff just won't look right.

Quick question: Is there a way to control what is played before the menu, or just to skip everything all together?

Try one of these

Naw, what he wants is this:

You're both correct. I think turning off the intro helped for the time being, but those LOGO_FLAGS look to do EXACTLY what I want. Thanks so much! :D

Edit: So I'm in need of help, hoping to figure out if I'm doing anything right. Okay, so here I want to prevent 3dr logo from showing.
gamevar LOGO_FLAG_3DRSCREEN 0 0

That doesn't do the trick. Do I ahve to do something with LOGO_FLAGS?

It works like a cstat. You want (for example):

gamevar LOGO_FLAGS 1 0

That should skip directly to the menu.

gamevar LOGO_FLAGS 5 0

Iirc will give you the menu but play the opening music track.

So basically whatever I want, I add the numbers together and place it into the value and leave the flag as 0. Okay, thanks. :D

That's not a gamevar the game will read, you just created it yourself. The capitalized names on the wiki page just are the internal names for the bitfield values.

The game only accepts values from the LOGO_FLAGS gamevar. Since you want to remove the 3D Realms logo, you check the number for LOGO_FLAG_3DRSCREEN and remove it from the default value (255), which gives you 247;

gamevar LOGO_FLAGS 247 0

If you set it as 0 (gamevar LOGO_FLAGS 0 0), it will skip straight to the menu, as the LOGO_FLAG_ENABLED (which is 1) is not set in the bitfield.

Thanks. Turns out i'm going to work in the ANM as a replacement for logo and title screen. Anyone know what the frame rate is for the anm? or do you think I might have to experiment with them until they work well with sound?

Why not use VP8? The frame rates for the different ANMs are hard-coded into the game.

Dude, I'm so fucking jealous of you. I'd love to have a green screen and all related tech.

Funny how I've been wanting to get back into film production. :D I'm just so happy to get that chance again.

I remember about 10 years ago I had a great video card that did video capture and had all the fancy wipes, overlays, chroma keying with the blue screen, etc... I had a blast messing with that stuff. I haven't really looked lately, but I can't remember the last time I saw a card like those. I'd imagine they still make them but they must not be very popular these days.

Good luck with your projects.

Yeah, no need for a card at all. Everything is standard by just connecting the camera to the firewire or usb. :D Thanks btw.

I've made quite a bit of progress but I don't have much time to promote too much since i'm up to my neck in work at Hollywood Sports. Overseeing promotional materials, organizing concepts for potential Airsoft fields and putting together plans for the Graveyard Field for the Halloween Zombie Airsoft event. This multi-million dollar company takes priority over this, but i'm thankful to get a job like this in a time in which I didn't have a job.

Fun fact, our new office will be set in a banquet hall filled with props from the remake film 'the Haunting'. I hate that film, but hey, this is hollywood. :D

Dude, you have the best job ever, i love airsoft! :D

Dude, if you were around LA/Hollywood i'd so invite you to one of our events. The zombie event is going to be trippy.
