So HTTK, CTB, DM and TDM will all be in the game as-well... correct?

I think a HTTK isn't planned, there is a Horde mode instead. Lemme just check.

EDIT: No Hail To The King mode planned (CTB, DM and TDM are in though).

The Horde mode has alien drop pods that need to be destroyed in several locations. And the aliens spawn from them.

Some concept art for the drop pods:

Have you ever played bioshock 2? They basicly made a horde mode where the splicers come from out of nowhere. Make sure that you don't make it like that. Killing monsters together in multiplayer is a nice thing. But it can also be the worst if it is done wrong.
And i hate HTTK matches >.>

Aw I love HTTK matches, but I'm sure it couldn't be too hard to make a mod for an HTTK mode. Anyway, before we get to see the game we've got to wait for Gearbox to profit from their DNF DLC. :( I hate the fact that I was right.

Well, if there is a mode (Greed) where a stripper is at certain points in the map and teleports between these points after a certain amount of time, it shouldn't that hard to use this code, subclass a gametype and make it so, that a team or player scores when it is within a certain radius of that stripper. Maybe add some emitter or a projection on the floor around her and give the gamemode a unique name (something with Stalking, or so, because it is the goal to get close to the stripper and stay there).

Note: This is no official plan, it is just an spontaneous idea how it could be done and named.

You missed a perfect opportunity to call him RaperMan, which is only one letter different from his name. :(

Well, it was the first thing that came to my mind, but I thought it was too similar to rapper. And english isn't my native language anyway. :(

There can't be a Duke game without strippers. I won't beg for it. Reloaded simply has to do it, period. Posted Image

There is already Beer in the game - But whether it will be drinkable or not, has not yet been decided.

I totally agree with you, HL2 is probably the most overrated game ever. Far Cry, Doom 3 and Painkiller are MUCH better and from the same release year. First Half Life is both original and fun, but the second... very disappointing (and boring) game.
I cannot understand why they didn't look at Prey instead of HL2, a game from the same 3D Realms, funny, original and intense.

...

Nigga, are you kidding me?

HL1 is the most overrated game ever. It's shitty, monotonous, and dull with just enough minor innovations to net it a GOTY award at the time. HL2 blows it out of the water and is a masterpiece in just about every way possible.

As for Doom 3 being better? Nigga, seriously? Seriously? Doom 3 is the second biggest disappointment of my life besides Barack Obama. I'm not kidding when I say that - I'm dead serious. At least DNF was decent. Doom 3 is one of the dullest, shittiest, most derivative games I've ever played. It defines the word "uninspiring." It's only redeeming aspect at the time was it's engine.

HL1 and HL2 are awesome so STFU. :(

I agree that Doom 3 was shit, but DNF wasn't even decent... it was shit too. :(

HL1 isn't a good game at all. Take off your nostalgia goggles. In 1998, it was the dog's tits...but it's one of those games that hasn't aged well at all. Compared to many modern and older FPS games it doesn't hold up. HL1 had a unique mood and presentation and many minor innovations. That was enough to make it monumental upon release, nothing more. It relies far too heavily on that. Take it all away, and the overall gameplay is dull and the pacing is slower than a Christian relationship.

I actually got some enjoyment out of DNF. It managed to feel somewhat like a Duke game. Somewhat. Doom 3 doesn't feel like Doom at all. Take away the graphics and it plays like a budget bin indie survival horror game. Doom 3 is on a short list of games that I feel deserve a special place in hell. Also on this list are Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic the Hedgehog '06, and E.T. on the Atari 2600.

HL2 was da shit. HL1, didn't play so much, but from what I remember, it sucked compared to Duke 3D and Doom II....and those games were already considered dated. Overall, I thought the HL series was alittle overrated, but ya know, that's just my opinion. Doom 3 sucks hella hard compared to DNF. Then again, DNF wasn't that bad of a game. It was just too linear combined with clunky controls and a "dated" look and feel. I still like it though.

Lol I forgot about Sonic '06 (that's a good thing though). That was the biggest piece of shit next gen game I've ever booted up. Shit controls, shit story, beastiality. Besides ET, it's the worst game of all time.

The only thing about Half Life 1 that hasn't aged well is the early generation of 3D graphics. I'm kind of shocked at your hypocrisy in comparing it to modern shooters. After all, you're posting on a forum dedicated to Duke Nukem 3D.

Donno if that was directed to me or Descent. So until I know I won't comment any further.

Don't hate HL1, vote for your favourite Freeze-Ray secondary firemode:

PS: One or the other thread to discuss some gameplay elements to get a feel for the community's opinion about them will follow soon.

It's not hypocritical. I can play DE:HR and jizz myself. I can load up Duke3D and have a blast. Loading up Half Life is like like pulling teeth. Half Life's major problem is that it's main innovations were overall presentation and AI, and both of those things have come a long way in thirteen years. HL's core gameplay isn't exactly groundbreaking, it's designed to mesh well with the overall presentation of the game which is now extremely dated. What you're stuck with is a slow, plodding FPS with poorly spaced combat.

I hope you guys aren't actually going to allow a public vote to determine the freezer's secondary fire. Stuff like that should be decided by the developers, who know more about the gameplay and stuff. I mean there might be specifics about the level design and enemies that would favor one option over another that the voters know nothing about. Also I doubt that voters would give it as much thought as the developers. But I suppose any of the options could be good depending on the details.

My own view is that the primary and secondary fire should complement each other. In DukePlus, if the player uses the modified freezer, the primary fire is a freeze beam which freezes but does not kill or bounce, and the secondary fire shoots ice spikes which kill and do bounce. The idea being that you can use secondary fire to kill the frozen enemy so you don't have to switch weapons. The main thing you want to avoid is having one of the firing modes made useless by the other firing mode. The freeze ray secondary sounds like it might make the primary fire useless (assuming the primary is similar to Duke 3D). A beam hits instantly and presumably would freeze enemies, and since you say it bounces as well, there would be no point to using the primary fire, since the ray would do everything but better. You could make the ray cost more ammo, but in my experience players don't mind using extra ammo and will just use up the weapon with the better firing mode and then switch to another weapon. The chargeable area effect secondary sounds the best to me. The primary would still be useful against single opponents or for when you don't have time to charge it, and the secondary would be great for ambushes.

Of course we decide ourrselves in the end. But it is always good to hear what the community thinks and if we are getting in the right direction. We have a few threads coming up that don't directly affect gameplay but could the game as a whole. We still collect a few topics and post them in a few days.

BTW, my own preferences are just like yours: limited shaft/beam and projectiles. Just like the link/pulse guns from the UT series (plus the bouncing).

I think it's worse than E.T. It's far and away the worst game I've ever played and I didn't even play it until last week. This is coming from the guy who owns an actual E.T. cartridge.
