I still have the drive and some disks..it is not plugged in and when I get my new case, I'll not put it in. One never knows when having a floppy around will be useful.

Why the hell is the PSU always at the bottom? Great idea, let's put one of the hottest parts of the machine down there because we all know heat rises

Because when its on top then it uses all the hot air from videocard and cpu to "cool" itself? I'd love to have PSU at the bottom right now. Depends on the PSU's cooling, though.

In my current case the PSU is pretty much sealed off from the rest of the computer, so there's a straight path from the front of the case with an intake fan to the back where the PSU is. The heat of the video card or CPU does not get in the way.

This is the case I decided on - Silverstone Raven RV02B (This is a photo with some crappy hardware installed, I wouldn't install this crap if you payed me.)

Edit: Oh, and LOL at the daisy-chaining.
Edit 2: As for crappy hardware, his PSU and GPU are OK, it's only really the motherboard I dislike, but still, I don't have to install that one in mine, I'll be installing this one; http://www.supermicr..._C204/X9SCA.cfm

Heh, I went to a preliminary french continuer's lecture today. Apparently only half the class was there, but there were only 4 guys (including me), and at least a dozen girls. Giggity.

You're going to need to learn some French pick up lines if you want a chance.

J'ai un Tour Eiffel dans ma pantalon - Chris Turk.
I think there's also a line from a song that goes "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?"

But I would probably say something like "tu es tres belle aujourd'hui, est-ce que tu voudrais un cafe avec moi plus tard?" but that would probably sound a bit off to a native french speaker.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that only your line would work...the other two are pretty much a one way ticket to a sore face.

Well I could get a sore face, but there's always the chance for the alternative

Why don't you actually, you know, make friends and build close and trusting relationships?

The Mighty Bison has a good point. I'll probably wait a few months before even attempting a romantic relationship, just so that I can get a hang of the workload. I don't even know if I'll have enough time for a gf.

Almost forgot. My brother took his driver's test on Wednesday. I should ask him whether he passed or not.

My new computer case arrived so when I pick up my sound card from the office tomorrow afternoon after my audiologist appointment and lunch, I'll sit down and transfer the guts from one case to another and install the new card (while removing an old HDD I don't need and the floppy drive I can't use).

Providing that it all works, tomorrow night will be nice.

Don't take your driver's test when you're sick. I guess my brother failed the test.

It helps if you don't puke on the driving instructor, or do this...

Well, that's mostly due to the cigarette.

It's these "dumbasses" that keep the free Internet alive. If everyone blocked ads, sites would not be able to generate revenue. It can only survive as long as ad blockers remain in use by a minority.

Nonsense. Getting a VPS at some company which is good enough to support a lot of traffic costs maybe $20 per month, and that is being generous, for my VPS I pay 3 euros per month (though disk space, RAM and bandwidth is somewhat limited). Getting a DNS domain name costs maybe 15 bucks per year depending on your TLD.

If you really can't afford that cost, then maybe, just maybe, keeping a website running shouldn't be your top priority to begin with.

(of course there are exceptions to this, I'm sure sites like reddit, imgur, wikipedia, google and whatnot are expensive as fuck)

I wish it were. I've been meaning to quit smoking this year though.

For the... well, I've lost count, but I have come downstairs again and discovered that I am getting a hell of a lot of packets going to port 3389 (Remote Desktop) - they are all just requests to initiate Remote Desktop but luckily my computer does not have this enabled, quite disappointed with my router though, that port should be blocked, I guess I could forward it to an IP I am not using instead of blocking it.

From now on, I shall be reporting the abuse to the offending parties ISP.

Start smoking cigars. +10 cool points, and you should end up smoking less.

Problem is most people can't deal with cigar smoke its pretty dominating, I've smoked for 20 years now, stupidist thing I ever done and continue to do, it really pisses me off when I see people who start smoking when they are twenty + because they really should know better, like my girlfriends sister, it started off as the odd one when she was drinking and two years later it was 10 a day and I did warn her. I'm pretty sure it was because of the industry she works in (fashion) when everybody has to be skinny and smoke to look chic. I will give up soon, I can feel the toll its taking on my lungs as I've been running a lot lately. Soon.

I have someone at work who smokes. She's 17. I thought 18 was the legal age to buy cigarettes? Least it is in Alberta.

Well, that's the point, Ripem. If you inhale a cigar like a cigarette, you're a jackass. It's a much more enjoyable experience, and I have one or two socially every blue moon.

Jeff, it's very common for fifteen year olds and up to use tobacco products. I know dudes who have been dipping since they were like ten. I'm not exactly in Smartsville though.

Youngest kid I've known to smoke was some two year old from southeast Asia. Saw it on Youtube.

Even if router somehow can't block this port(which i doubt is really the case here) then why it even being forwarded to your computer? Without specific setting router won't forward shit.

What's there to report? All popular ports are getting accessed on a daily basis by various IPs. You should configure your router properly to deny connections and close any unneeded ports.
