If you want to use Google, you should probably be happy that ads exist. If you like a stable economy, you should be glad that Google makes money from selling ad space to hire employees who pay taxes and buy things from companies that hire people who pay taxes and buy stuff from companies and hire people who pay taxes and buy stuff from companies that hire people who pay taxes and buy stuff from companies that hire people who pay taxes and buy stuff....you get the idea.

All I see is taxes Posted Image and I use duckduckgo to search (don't get fooled by the name).

My store manager got fired. No wonder he wasn't in today and his picture was missing from the front of the store.

I'm going to be reinstalling Windows soon because I can't get the new motherboard to play nice with sound. Backing up some of the games on Steam and making sure I have documents backed up. With my new 1 TB external, I can do that which is nice.

I was talking to my department assistant manager and she said that there were some issues with employees and he wasn't doing a good job. More or less. At any rate. They've got a new guy in temporarily until we get a more permanent manager. When someone takes you aside and starts screaming at you for something you didn't do, that's where there's a problem. I didn't leave the cardboard in the room where it's not supposed to go, yet, the way he went at it, it sounded like he thought I did it.

Someone I work with said he is an ass. My former department manager (filled in for my current boss while she was on leave) said, "yeah, that's how he does things" in sort of a disapproving way.

So they fired a dick then?

Perhaps. I don't know the details.

Yeah, at my old job, they fired one dick and replaced it with another. Not very encouraging.

Wow, and thank goodness for camera phones.

I once saw a massive spider on a fence while jogging at night. It must've been the size of the palm of your hand.

I like spiders, fascinating creatures, I like the idea of just sitting around waiting for my food to come to me instead of having to go out and buy it... Having said that, there aren't any really dangerous spiders over here, the only ones that really do anything are the Woodlouse Spider, Woodlouse Hunting Spider - those two are very similar but are different - and the false widdow.

The Woodlouse Hunter and it's cousin have never been known to do much more damage than a bee sting would, but there has been very little research done on their venom so you'd probably be better to avoid it as they are known to be vicious and if you have a reaction to it or a great number of them are around it might end in disaster - for you, not for the spiders, they'd have secured themselves a good meal.

I rather like the false widdow though because I have about 5 living near my back door, scares everybody to death when they head out towards the privvy because they think that it's the real thing.

That car looks like a typical Saturday night scene in my city.

Apparently the ASUS P8H67-V tends to have a faulty on board audio card. I wish I had known that earlier this week, I would have ordered a sound card before this morning. I'm not that pissed about it though since this means I'll have a decent sound card and I'll know I'll always have sound with any upgrade in the future. Besides, Realtek is OK, but I feel like reputation wise Creative is better.

I don't find Creative to have a very good reputation anymore at all. I had an X-Fi for a while and had nothing but problems with it... driver issues when using 4 or more gigs of RAM resulting in BSODs and crackling sound were the norm with that piece of crap, up until the card just decided to die one day. I think if I was going to buy a sound card these days I'd just get something from the ASUS Xonar series.

I have the Asus Xonar DX. Works pretty good.

I've been debating getting a new sound card. My computer's a pre-built, so I don't know much about the sound card that's currently in it, apart from that it's a RealTek HD Audio card with an ALC877 codec and DirectX 11.0. It has some interesting equalizer and reverb settings, and I would expect the next sound card I buy to have those features and then some.

We get bigger ones than that out here in the woods. I hate them so.

I wonder how much soundcard matters if I output through hdmi? Nvidia has its own drivers for hdmi audio. Hmm, maybe I should test disabling onboard audio and see if hdmi would still work.

I have an ASUS board, which is why I am staying away from an ASUS sound card, not that they would be related, but I don't want to buy a new card and it also be faulty. I haven't kept up with sound cards since most motherboards came with on board so I am just going on what I remember: Creative. I think my MP3 player is a Creative and I like it. I am going with the relatively quick and cheap solution because I hate not having any sound from my computer. It makes it so I can't sit at my desk to watch TV but have to watch from another room (meaning I can't multi task during commercials).
I figure the card will work especially since it is new and because I don't have that great of a sound system (or care for one really since I likely wouldn't notice) I can live with it....for now.

I fucking hate spiders. Snakes I don't mind, long as they aren't venomous of course, but I cannot stand spiders at all.

Another quiet night here in the arse end of nowhere, might either try to record some weird ambient music or go off and read a book.

This board has a HDMI out for audio/video. I assume if I was using it as a media center with a TV (rather than 2 monitors for gaming) I could use a nice TV with speakers and maybe even attach surround etc. Maybe when I am not living on a low budget.

Think I'm going to give up on building a new PC, I just can't get the parts for it. To start with, nobody in this country seems to supply SuperMicro motherboards or Intel Xeon E3 Processors, then, to make matters worse, there are no good cases... Why the hell is the PSU always at the bottom? Great idea, let's put one of the hottest parts of the machine down there because we all know heat rises and the cable management goes to shit - I don't bother with cable management so when I notice a problem it's probably a sign something is really wrong, then there's nowhere to install radiators, nowhere to install floppy drives and a tonne of other issues. I might just buy a blackberry and turn into one of the masses who follow the Twitter religion.

Aren't floppy drives extinct? What do people use a 1.44 MB disk for nowadays?
