They fucked up and sent me two of them. I've decided it's not really my problem or duty to inform them of this mishap as I actually emailed them as soon as they shipped them to ask why there were two separate packages with separate tracking numbers, only to be blown off and never get a reply.
I took all of the RAM and HDs out of the extra and stowed it away in a closet. Now, wtf am I going to do with a server with 16GB RAM...

Do you have a rack at home? 1U servers are noisy as shit...

This is what it looks like internally (stock pic from the seller):
I should be able to get away with disconnecting the rightmost exhaust fan and throttling the other two down to 7-8v to lower the noise level to just below the ambient noise of everything else I've got running in here. It looked like the fans were Delta FFB0812VHEs... I have a couple of Delta FFB0812SH which are essentially a thinner, louder and nastier version of the same sort of fan (25mm thickness vs 38mm) and they still performed quite well at a lower voltage. This room already has a bit of a drone going due to all the other equipment but most of it is cooled with 120mm "ultra high output" Panaflos which are quite a bit quieter other than the sound of the airflow they generate.

Usually, in these situations, I break open a broken PSU and steal the thermal controller for the fans from it, you'd need to do a bit of soldering, but it does work quite well. Another thing you could try to do is to use speed-fan, though there's no guarantee it would even work with a board like that. Failing that, lowering the voltage should work.

Wouldn't ECC memory still work in non-ECC motherboard/memory controller? Just without error correction of course.

If it was just ECC it would, but registered memory uses different keying.

That shit is annoying as hell. Back when I lived in CA it was always the police or firefighter associations, and they wouldn't stop asking even after telling them I'm disabled and only get a few hundred bucks a month to work with. I had to just hang up on them several times.

Here's an 'article' my brother has written, which I've posted before.

My aunt was saying something like this last year. How places like the United Way don't actually try and help people. Most of that money never goes into the hands of those who need it.
Seems criminal if you ask me.

Good Spoiler!!
We still give to the Church. It was a promise I made way back when, for Him helping us out of a very tight spot (it was a miracle, or some very odd coincidences in our favour). Yes, yes, I'm an atheist now. - If you crunch the numbers, we've got a choice: 'Waste' it on the Church that daily help, single moms, addicts etc. or wait for the extortionists aka Tax Man to collect. And I volunteer a bit too, so I actually see where the cash goes. As your brother suggested - get involved.

You can knock me, I posted it, so I'm fair game. The thing is, most addicts adapt to some form of god to overcome their addiction. Rather them ending up with something like Islam, I prefer Christianity. So in effect, I'm a hypocrite. Also, I sleep good at night. So it's a case of selfish hypocrisy. B.T.W. the alternate rehab is the governmental version. I know at least two close peeps who are now addicted to governmental shit designer drugs for the rest of their life. Can't save them, but ... as I said, selfish hypocrite. And for the single moms, that too goes way back, when I was much much younger.
@ Mr Flibble, name one person in this universe that never felt that way.

For those that are not aware Source Filmmaker is a internal program of Source.
It is used for creating all the "Meet the [insert character here]" and the Left for Dead intros.
Source Filmmaker got left in a TF2 beta from back in 2007. The only way to access it now is to download the 2007 beta version or wait till Valve releases it. (which people have been waiting for years)
I hope to learn the program better so I can output something like this.

I always get cock-blocked, which doesn't help because I'm already an anti-social asshole, I really don't need help.

Nah, I'm not gonna knock you because of your reasoning to do so (not just blindly submitting to the Church.) But yeah, rehabilitation really sucks. I really don't want people turning to religion to replace addiction, but replacing drugs doesn't really fix anything either. People aren't bringing up strong self-reliant people. I've used drugs and alcohol, but I'm not addicted to it, because some of it I don't like or don't need.

And don't anyone suggest the old karate kid "crane" kick for when your leg is injured. That would never work, lol. They would see that coming a mile away and they would knock you on your ass so fast you wouldn't know what hit you.

Or you can call the UCD police department and let them know what should be done with him.

Don't forget Police chief ANNETTE SPICUZZA, who later congratulated Lt. Pike, when you are making your call.
Repost this information where ever you can. These criminals must be brought down!
