What actor would make a great Duke Nukem?  "Remember the movie WILL happen"

#91

Has anyone mentioned Chris Evans yet? Keep in mind, I mean "Scott Pilgrim"/"Captain America"-era Chris Evans, not "Fantastic Four"-era Chris Evans.

Yes blackharted did at the start of the thread. I'm now starting to think the same about Chris Evans too

By the way, I'm also getting the impression the mentioning BlackHearted's name is like saying Voldemort's name aloud. :P

He doesn't really have to be that good to make it work since it's an action role. Look at Arnold, I'm a huge Arnold fan but Arnold isn't the best actor either. Arnold can do action movies but no other type of movie. I think Steiner can pull it off, since he would be playing basically a bad ass like himself.

Hmmmmmm yeah but the difference is Arnold can act at least a little, whereas Scott soooo can't. To be an actor you do have to have at least some acting talent.

Also I'm surprised you haven't suggested Kurt Angle. :)

Kurt Angle has a BROKEN FRIGGIN' NECK. Besides, he's too bald.

MY top 3 choices for who could play Duke Nukem:

1. Chris Evans
2. Thomas Jane
3. ???? (TBA sometime later this week)

Mmmmmmmnope. That guy may be badass, but he doesn't look like the Duke more than I do.

We get a half baked (well, 3/4 baked actually) game, now we move on to what is surely going to be a movie that will do the subject matter the same justice that the 'Doom' movie did. My vote? Can this crap and get on with making a decent Duke game.

It's kindof weird for a site that wants 'the movie to be done right' to promote a random semi-look-a-like with no acting experience as the future leading actor.

A pro wrestler is an hell of an actor alright, everything they do in the ring is pretty much scripted, but that guy aint Duke material.. don't ask why but he just doesn't look like Duke to me.

I like Sandman but he's not good as Duke. Geeze I keep thinking Scott Steiner is the only pro wrestler that can play Duke oh and Sting.

Yeah Kurt is definitely my favorite, but I didn't mention him because he doesn't look like Duke and he isn't tall. When I think of Duke I think of someone who is 6' 1"-6' 3", Angle is 5' 10".

Idk man Steiner is a pro wrestler that alone involves acting. Personally I think Sting could pull it off better though. Sting back in the 80s looked just like Duke.

I could swear a thread like this already exists, and that I posted in it but hey whatever.

Why the hell would anyone want a fat ass wrestler to play Duke? Duke needs to be athletic not an oversized bag of synthol.

For fuck sake. I thought this was some sort of official thing.

For anyone who hasn't opened the link, it leads to a webpage which looks like it was made by a ten year old. It even has a picture of a 'wrastler' on it.

Someone change the title so it isn't misleading.

Jon St John went for a CGI idea, so unless this supports that, I'm not interested. A Duke movie would be fine in CGI, that way Duke doesn't lose his voice or his looks, but otherwise it's a bad idea.

If you check out most video-game movies that have been made, most of them look like they were written and directed by ten year olds.

They should make an animated movie and forget about making a live action film.

Damn straight. Title and content makes it sound like something has been officially announced, and that this is officially supported.

Also...

I. Hate. Websites. That. Autoplay. MUSIC.

*edit* I guess someone combined the topics. My post looks very out of place now.

Wow, what a terrible website. It's like a throwback to the geocities and angelfire sites that plagued the internet in the late 90's.

Old school is often better. But when it's not better, it's nothing but pitiful. This site is a good example.

This is 2011!

Sorry dude, just had to point that out.

The only good wrestler turned actor is of course The Rock.

(Go see him in Fast 5 it's AWESOME if you want proof :) )

Lol, so apparently the requirement of being a potential Duke actor is simply having blond hair? :)

Riight, because all wrestlers are fat and not athletic. Do you think about things before you type them? In order to be a good wrestler you have to be athletic. Maybe you just don't like wrestling, so according to you all wrestlers are "fat". Do you know how many wrestlers there are that are in great shape, even for being old like Sting who is 51.

You didn't get my point. My point was Sting back in the 80s looked just like Duke, because he used to have short blonde hair. Now he has long black hair. If he cut his hair short and dyed it blonde he'd look like Duke. Sting is in great shape. He's 51, but could pull off playing Duke in his mid 40s.

and being above 6 foot with a pretty good muscular build. Duke to me looks like he has a pro wrestler or older generation body builder build and not a modern pro bodybuilder build. In other words more like Arnold Schwarzenegger less Ronnie Coleman.

Yeah fine. BUT surely the first movie should show Duke in his prime? Also I don't like to be a dick but you multi-posted, I think the edit button is a great substitute if you know what I mean! :P Also I think the MULTI quote button would be a great help LOL :) Now I don't want to troll or start a major flame war, but someone had to say it.
