Duke will sell millions :(

Here is my prediction. It ll sell 6 million copies (X360-PS3-PC) in a year timeframe or less.

You can quote me when the time will be right.

I'm going to bring logic into this and say that the devlopers might get at least a mild net gain off of the game. I say might, because Gamestop makes it so publishers get less than half of the profit from the game when new. nothing when used. So there may be issues due to Monopolistic douchebaggery.

Best Case:
DNf kicks MW2's first day sales record's ass, and the game is fucking awesome.

Mid case: The game is pretty successful, about the standard performance of a AAA game. And it is fucking awesome.

Worst case: Game pretty much bombs, Gearbox closes cown, George is sad, and the game was pretty good.

There's no point in debating this... Some games are meant to have silent characters like the more down to earth HL2... but duke is the complete opposite of that, it has parodies, pop culture references, etc. DNF is meant to be like that. It's a completely different kind of game.

not to mention 6 million views of a video epicness while using EXCLUSIVELY his quotes nothing else.

it's often associated character with a game that makes him interesting, it needs to do something , some more some less , duke needs only his mouth , that's a true character , like mario / samus / link / fox etc ... , you need only these unique guys and it's instapull.

Depends on how people feel about the enjoyment VS the technical achievement. I suspect the enjoyment level will be unreal, but if the reviewers are looking for technical achievement, the game is fuxored.

@ Pikachu
No I also don't want to be compared to you, cause you are the complete opposite of me.

Wait, you say you don't want to be compared with him, yet you say he's the complete opposite of yourself?
If you say that, then doesn't it imply that you've already compared yourself with him to reach that conclusion?
So you don't want anybody to compare you with him yet you compare yourself with him :(

No offense though, I was just fucking around. :(

I am ip banned there but that's not the problem. I do have a new account there, which i use with proxies when I want to post something.
The problem is that I don't feel like visiting that shit forum, it's very corporatist and depressing. I wrote here some weeks ago that I autobanned myself there after I got sick with their politically correct ambient over there.
The forum feels like an official booth from some expo, where everybody that talks to you is from the PR department.
They all talk like they're Randy...

Reporter:"Will DNF come out with mod tools?" Randy:"NH!... I mean we are a company that loves to blah blah blah and we always did the blah blah blah because "insert ass kissing line here" and we blahb blah blah avoid your question right now and smile a lot but the truth is we didn't think about it and we don't want to release it because we want to release DLC instead but we can't tell you that because then you will hate us"

Do these magazines just have a fetish for that picture of Duke or what?

Edit: I also found a contradiction within the "Real Time" thing. It's supposed to be real time, but has Levels like "Level 1: Duke Lives" or "Level 15: Highway Battle". Just something I noticed, probably won't be a big deal. Maybe they just mean mid-level loading.

I seriously haven't seen any unreal engine based fps games that don't have loading times.
There are maps that require a loading screen between them, that is definitely the way this works, I don't understand wtf is up with the real time stuff.
Maybe they mean there aren't any cut scenes and the game works like hl2 where the actors turn their heads and bodies to face your character as you move and they don't require you to stop touching the keyboard and mouse just to watch the cutscene.

Bioshock had no mid-level loading, and that was "Unreal Engine on steroids", just like Duke's enormous tool. But if it is like HL2 with the cutscenes, then I'm sure there'll be some form of parody to it.

Bioshock had loadings after each level. The levels were short enough to not need mid-level loading.
Dnf will most likely have the same kind of level loading like DN3D, just that it's levels will be much bigger that the DN3D ones.
Mid-level loading is usually used for unreal engine based games that have huge open levels like borderlands for ex.

^ Yeah, thats probably the general idea.

The "real time" thing doesnt mean what you think it means triforcer. They were referring to the progression of the story.

I can't say for sure, but I think he's wearing different sunglasses in this image than what he's wearing in the PAX demo. Look at some of the demo screenshots and compare them to this one.
