We need to make this for this site.... This is why im saporting software mode. now how easy would it be to get people to join the site if it leads to a free online game.
And if thay don't join, One player mode. Could add the option : start your map by draging and droping a map.file (flash media).
Maybe even work on a Map from the site. By uploading mapsters maps on to your Ram sticks.
Then there alot more add space to work with and sell from the attention made.... Your wellcome.

Hmmm...Interesting indeed, but how would that work in real?

i can post doom on one of my networking sites im on. the game has a built in like to newgrounds... id rather post my own game with a link to e-dukes site. thay did good work. and well, helped me out.
as for the money? when a game that can be on anything (flash media) and any site. theres alot to be made in addvertisement space.
PS:im known for sharing good ideas. its just a matter of taking them.

how big are con files and basic art tiles?... the fact doom and two other games are being played is reason alone that mods can be made within it.
why not offer HD space to members (like now)?. where you could keep the con and art files that play your mod in software?.

Maybe not?.. Duke3d's coding was based off of doom. doom even has this same build program. half the work is already done.

No.
Build is 100% Ken Silverman code, the Duke3D game code is mostly 3D Realms, no id software code. Doom map building was done using a program written for NeXT Workstations, I don't think it was ever ported to x86, so all of the map utilities publicly available (DeePsea, WadAuthor, DETH etc) are actually written from scratch by people not affiliated with id.
Don't talk about shit you obviously don't know about.

you just prooved my point Backwords Man. a group of programers not affiliated with id made programs that run on both... and duke3d is on all formats starting from Dos. ive played it on mac, lenx, amiga, unix and emuluation as well as a PSP and cell phone. all within reach of Mods.
thank you

Are you like, retarded or something?
People made Doom level editors through reverse engineering and probably a little documentation on the map formats from id software, there was no source code available. Duke3D isn't on "All Formats". Granted, it's been ported to a lot of them thanks to it's source code being released (what the hell is lenx (linux?) and since when is emulation a platform) but each one has it's own differences and challenges.
The fact is, you said that Duke3D is "based off Doom". It isn't, it doesn't share any code with it. You said that "doom even has this same build program". It didn't, the level editors didn't even have any Doom code in them, they were written from scratch and worked in a completely different way. You said that "half the work is already done." It isn't, they are two completely different engines and porting one to Flash/Alchemy would not help the other get ported at all.

you have alot of nerv calling your dad retarded. your mom just happen to like people with disabilitys. and i had to put on an act for her... it's just, she broke my heart when she found out the truth. so just leave me alone, OK.
look, the depth on programing, i would'nt know it. I make a clear point how much i dont know.
but its clear it can be done. man who douts it, yet points out how guys without the source codes pulled it off in the 90s. and with stuff like ploymor and the holy bible of nuken E-duke. you'd think someone would have the skills to do it today.
im not going to say you dont know what your saying. but the fact is clear from what your saying is, it can be done? and i guess half the work is, prooving that?
look i only posted this idea because i know i can't do it. or else id be trying to get the jump off. the programmer who did the doom one is'nt at all close the skills behind the work on the nukem bible.
PS: if your a progammer, have some progamming ballz. aim for something that would wow people.... i <3 the nukem bible.

Look, I didn't say it couldn't be done, I said it would be difficult, particularly so if the coder was to implement all the features you are asking for such as netplay and the like. A sort of Quake Live type setup would be pretty cool but in the end it would just be a gimmick. Terminx and Plagman have enough on their hands already with far more important additions. Perhaps some time in the future when eduke32 is a bit more polished.

your right about the research part. all the stuff i know was from this old programer i use to know in high school. half the stuff he told me, i can't remeber that well. but he was the one who said duke3d and doom whare close programs.
if he was around he'd probalay point out an aspect of the programing to proove his point. or tell me im qouting him wrong and correct me untel i get it right.

Or he was just full of crap and didn't know what he was talking about. Especially since Build uses Sector Portals and Doom uses BSD Trees. They are completely different methods of rendering. They are similar in the fact that the both end up drawing images on the screen eventually though.

M-Bison that statement about Duke Nukem 3D having a tightly knit fanbase. kind of worrys me in a way. the only reason i wanted to make it more reachable to more people. is because last time, all the duke sites stoped working because there was'nt alot of saport behind it.
e-duke brang that back with new fans and the optiion. so even if you want it to stay tightyly knit, it can't.
captain awesome, try banning your head agents a brick wall. you dont brake as meny keyboreds that way. and you can sell the bloody wall as artwork... worked for me, i have 10.00$ now.
anyways, i shared the idea. unless this is a post about how duke should change his name. i dont see sharing an idea as a bad thing. thank you, to everyone who has taken the time to teach me more infomation and insite.
much respects.
