My girlfriend was once on here... as a male though. She always shows male or undisclosed and uses screen names with no clear gender associations on almost any forum she has been on, except those primarily populated by females already. (like cooking forums) She basically says that no matter WHAT kind of on line situation you are in, being a female is most often "bigger" than all else. Like you can't just be another Duke Nukem fan, you are always a Female Duke Fan. She doesn't like the difference in communications from that. She used a male avatar most of the time on PS Home for years, at least in "public".

Now I am curious though... why does it matter, "here"... or even in real life? Like what would you say or do differently if anyone here is or isn't the assumed gender? Example: What would you say to Kathy if she was a guy vs herself?
