Also it should be possible to suspend boulders from the ceiling by chains or some other sprite construction. Destroy what is holding them, and they drop down and start rolling on the sloped floor below, killing monsters in their path or whatever.

get it to work as you want it, then you can do an "indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark" rolling boulder escape section for a map

This project started a long time ago. It's an unholy mixture of my stuff and a lot of TCs. All material from third parties are going to be replaced.

Haven't been doing much lately. But here are some changes
Dukevision - Duke will be able to see further along with the already brightened areas from the original nightvision. Downside is that the screen is more green which makes it harder to see.
Steroids - Duke's might foot deals double damage. Downside is that the screen will flash with a red flash that looks like a fast heartbeat which makes it harder to see.
Jetpack - Haven't really thought of any +'s here. Downside is that the screen tilts.
Added cstat flag 2048 to all actors, i hate that sprites take the sectors shade value.
Then i finally finished something that had been annoying me for weeks. The freezer actually freezes enemies now. When an enemy's hp goes under 1 by the freezers shot, it will freeze like in the original game. After 10 seconds the enemy will start smelting, when xrepeat or yrepeat is below 11, the actor will explode spawning lotsofglass 50 and some water on the ground. I didn't think it would be so easy to add this. Bosses usually kill duke instantly itf duke is too close to the boss, but not if the boss is frozen, it wouldn't be fun if you couldn't might boot them to death :( I thought it would require much more coding into each actor. But i found an easy way to do it that just require me to put in freeze state in each freezeable actor. So i'm very happy about this.

:( Doesn't it already work that way? It doesn't sound like you changed anything.

For it to work with my new projectiles and monsters i had to make my own freezing system. Before whene enemies melted, they turned alive again. In my mod they die after some time. There are 4 usable freezer projectiles that you achieve later in the game, not all of them freeze the enemy. My freezer blast doesn't on the original monsters because i haven't put in those states like i did in my own monsters actors :( It also looks a bit different when they are frozen, new pal and they are transparent level 1.

Yeah, that's kinda silly. In some cases, going for realism makes the most sense. Like if you made rain go from the ground to the sky just because it wouldn't look good or make sense.

Yea but my mod is a super power mod, so transparent frozen monsters really isn't anything crazy :(

I think transparent frozen enemies are cool. In Prey, the freezing weapon turn enemies into solid transparent ice, as though they were made of water.

Reminds me of my button puzzle from STH3D.

Really easy thing to code, I'd say.

Today i added 20 duke quotes. 10 when you kill someone with regular shots, and 10 when you kill someone with explosives. I must say that i ripped them all xD Rest in pieces!

Made liztroop that shoot energy leeching orbs.
Cool trick tho.

Orb has a short life before it destroy itself.
But lasts forever as long it leech your life out.

You will see when u play. Is neat trick.

In the end, it doesn't matter whether it is hard to code or easy to code, or whether it is a neat trick or not, all that matters is whether the end result makes the game more enjoyable. That is the philosophy that I try to adhere to these days. Sometimes I end up doing something easy, sometimes hard, sometimes clever, sometimes clumsy and simple, but all of that is incidental and is of no real interest to the player.

It is very cool. But I´m tempted to say that even I can do it! Isnt just about adding "getv" to the AI block? I don´t mean nothing, it´s just that it is the first time i know (or i think i do) how something is coded just by seeing it :(

Gambini, yeah it is kinda simple to code. Effects like that could be coded in 1.5 limitations. Grins of Divinity showed off such an effect. However, that stuff was very hacky, and it couldn't activate switches.

I need help with a problem i have had for some time now. I want to make a scripted event that requires that i can code the way actors will move. Like a plane that crashes. Like it has a forward velocity and then you just control the angel. But for some reason that won't work for me. I can't get xvel to work for my actors, i can only get the value with getactor. If i give the actor a move that gives the actor speed. Then i can't change the angel for the actor? Any tips? It has to be possible. The way i did it before i had to control the x and y positions with required a lot of code and didn't look very well.
