For G/ZDoom users, "Wait for Doomscript" is probably the next incarnation of Duke Nukem Forever, if you get what I mean. >.>;

I hope I'm proven wrong by randy and the other coders on that, but at this point, I can't be too sure. <.<

Although to be fair on them, I was able to work with some RPG-ish elements on the small project I did for it and learned some things about ACS scripting while I was at it. :D

Or even get worse... :3

I remember ZDooM co-developer Graf Zahl was complained about Randy's lazyness and problems on Doomscript in ZDooM forum... *sigh* But that's long time ago.

Maybe it still happen, but... who knows.
(Wait, is it off topic now...?)

People don't tend to comment much in this thread but I'll post anyway. Recently I took a break from lighting Duke it Out in DC maps to polymerize one of my own maps that might be released soon...

Edit: lol some of you might have noticed the low framerate... I'm not the type of person who sacrifices quality for performance, but for those who can't handle the orgasmic graphics of polymer, I've spent a lot of time on sector based shading :)

Judging from the low FPS count in the upper corner it must be a large outdoor city map. :)

Not really Duke Nukem related but....

Its the pistol from ROTT, in voxel form. :)

Micky C: Your map reminds me alot of Assault on Precinct 13. You seem to have established a pretty moody atmosphere there.
ReaperMan: Looks great, love it!

Did you make that? Good job, but I'd maybe try thickening it by one pixel in the middle. I love voxels, I'd really like to see a good voxel pack (not based off of the HRP) for Duke3D.

Yes, i made that. Also its four voxels thick, i made it five voxels thick before but it looked funny.

EDIT: The finished firebomb :)

Cool, I like modeling voxel objects. Did you use Slab6 to make this? I have a script for Evaldraw which generates voxel objects by means of 'planar assembly' from a bitmap containing orthogonal projections & heightmaps of the object drawn by hand. But everything I've drawn so far is an animated flag and a shotgun shell.

I used a sprite to voxel converter that i found floating around on the internet and slab6. I convert the ROTT sprite to voxel form and then i worked on it in slab6 to get a voxel model that looks very similar to the sprite. :)

Which Sprite to Voxel one did you use? There were a few floating around because a bunch of us on Jonof's forums were making them a few years ago. Your weapon though from ROTT looks great btw. ^^ I love it. Reminds me of the first Sprite I ever converted to a Voxel Object, the Doom Plasma Rifle. :) Dunno if I still have a pic of that one. I should really add .KVX support to mine.

I used Strip to voxel to convert the sprite, although its a bit of a pain to use that as i have to go through and remove all of the black pixels from the sprite so it converts the sprite correctly.

So basically i converted the sprite in a huge block via strip to voxel and deleted, recolored, and edited it slab6.

Ah I see that one Scott_AW was making. ^^ He made that for his umm...Voxel Dungeon Crawler or something.

Well i noticed that the firebomb from ROTT and the Plasma rifle from Doom look very similar. Also, those voxel models you mad are very nice, mind posting the plasma rifle you made? :)

Thanks man I worked hard on this back in the day so I'm glad it's cool. It was easy to make them too, my program just takes a front/side/top bitmap and makes the voxel model. :) Sure thing, I'll post the plasma rifle. The one I made before was weak, so I'll make a new one. I'll also add .KVX or whatever support to my converter so I can give you a Ken's format file of it.

Awesome, hopefully that will make it easier to make the voxel models.

DNAHacker, re-working on Sprite2Voxel, it's all distracting me from the main project I should be doing. :) Sprite2Voxel can do humanoid figures pretty good too, I just need to factor in a back bitmap so that the front and back don't have the same image. :)

Edit: Not the place for that discussion.

What are you working on these for anyway, just for fun or something more devious? :)

Oh, I've got to that strip2voxel utility, I think it's good for converting simple sprites into voxels. Found it on http://gamejolt.com/open-source/games/rpg/...rpg-maker/2479/
It isn't very functional though; I can only put a bunch of parallel layers together. I would write my own voxel tool, but so far I use Evaldraw scripting to perform stuff generation like this (left part is the input):

Thats why i have to use slab6 to do most of the details.

Well i plan on taking over the world with voxels. :)

Actually, i'm working on a ROTT voxel pack. I figure if i make enough voxel models that birgner and jbailey will decide to add voxel support to WIN-ROTT-GL or someone will make a ROTT port that supports voxels. :)

Sounds pretty awesome. Voxels in ROTT would be pretty rad. Damn, I don't think I have my copy or ROTT anymore. T_T

What I would like to see is a ROTT Polymer. But I'm not getting my hopes up. :)

I finished the heat-seeker.

Anyway, i made an official thread for this here. Anyone think that a should make a thread for this on Duke4.net?

Also, if i get a chance i might start making a Duke3D voxel pack. :)
