Do you understand the sheer volume of work you're talking about.
It goes like this, "Yeah you can... But can you?"

Yes, I can! With some help of course! I have a lot of friends(who love Duke Nukem like me). And they can help me! Someone with C++ code(or "Blueprints" whatever), someone with models and graphics. I just won't start a project like that("sheervolumeof work I'm talking about") without guarantee it will be not stopped by Gearbox!

Well Gearbox would then be the ones to contact, they have even have licensing as a field on the drop down menu here: https://www.gearboxs...re.com/contact/

I will try anyway. If not, well get my personal experience in UE4 to do project like that will be cool anyway!

So far the title is just fake news and nothing to see here.

I would have really liked to play the Reloaded as much as the Rethinked (indeed my HDD have the pleasure to keep both the versions), it could be something impressive to see a new project by using the UE4, even if it will probably take a big amount of time.
Good Luck.

Most people here love Duke3D because of the retro aspect and Build engine intricacies, moving it to a modern engine loses something in translation.

Right now they don't care. Two months from now? They might. It all depends on the way the cha-ching winds blow.

Why don't you just make a game that is similar to Duke Nukem instead of trying to make a Duke Nukem game? I doubt GBX will let you make a Duke game if you give them a call. Then again, Randy is probably busy with dropping off USB of porn at family restuarants.

Yeah. It's literally a case of "we don't care anymore."
Keep in mind they were updating DNF to purposely lock people out of the console and any sorts of modding. That was the only effort put into updating DNF after release.

Shit, even modding wouldn't be this big. With Unreal Engine 4 you have to start from scratch, whether you're working in Blueprints or Code. You have to program everything in, from basics to complex things. At least when you're working in an existing game you have the basics waiting for you.

Let me get this straight. You just started learning UE4 and you want to remake a classic game because it would be cool and shiny.
You are far too inexperienced to do this.

Just make it a free to play fan project. Don't try to make it something big. At that point it should fall under fair use, and you can't get stopped from making it.

This I support. Don't remake Duke Nukem 3D. Make "Chelios' Duke Nukem Game in UE4".

Exactly. Keep the spirit of Duke Nukem 3D/Early DNF, but make it something original. I've seen what Duke 3D could look like now, and it's amazing. But at that point, I could just go back and play Duke 3D. Bring something new to the table. Maybe revisit some places from Duke 3D, like the strip club from Red Light District, or the subway from Rabid Transit, maybe even Hotel Hell. But make the game as a whole original. Original designs, classic and new enemies, and new Duke lines. Have the fun Gearbox refuses to have.

You're right on the money, but I was always under the impression that Fredo was looking for monetary compensation (perhaps some sort of hourly pay or money pumped into Interceptor), regardless of whether Randy would allow it to be sold or even released. But yeah it was clearly always about the money.

This, for the love of God, Don't remake DN3D (yet) again. Do something different. ANYTHING different!

This title wasn't news, if you don't understand. It was just a question!

1. You didn't phrase the topic as question. You just titled it "Duke Nukem on Unreal Engine 4" That's not a question. A question requires a question mark.
2. You've been given the answer.
3. You're not going to make it happen. Simply because you're half annoucning and half questioning something out the gate instead of getting all your ducks in a row first and going from there. All you had to do was look around some of the already existing threads in this very forum to find the answers to the questions you did ask in the post itself.
