@ Radar 100 Watts - More the reverse; their preaching tries to merge the image/story line of the Jewish God with the Son of God of the New Testament. They still working on this dilemma.

You have it backwards. Christians literally "merge" the Jewish God, Son of God, and Holy Spirit into one unit called the Trinity, which Jehovah's Witnesses reject.

Interesting news from a constitutional scholar. He says Trump has not been officially Impeached yet. It doesn't happen until the House actually turns over their decision to the Senate. Pelosi has not done that yet for whatever political reason. So if you want to tweak some leftie friend, tell them Trump hasn't been impeached yet.

Better 'do nothing' than do horrendous shit. And Bill Clinton was impeached. He's still serving his jail sentence; I remember watching him get dragged across the lawn of the White House in handcu- oh, wait. Meh, at least he got a blowjob out of it.

Yes, those darn illegal immigrants...seeking refugee from their native corrupt regimes(even compared to this one) so they can help bolster our economy doing shitty menial jobs and barely scraping by on minimum wages but still being grateful for the land of opportunity?
So if you're willing to concede that the vast majority of them aren't criminals and "rapists"(much lower crime rates on average than natural born American citizens, which only makes sense for fear of being deported), I guess your next argumentative point of reference is that they're taking all of our jobs - well, the ones we don't want anyway. Yeah, us true Americans dream of being able to wash sidewalks and serve fast food for shit pay.
Oh, so it's about the tax payer's money? How much dough is being funneled into building, guarding, and maintaining those detention centers?
So, yes...the alternative would be showing of modicum of intelligence and compassion. But this is Donald J. Trump we're talking about.

I don't blame them for coming here. I would try to do the same if I were in their shoes. I would try, that is. I wouldn't expect to be automatically let in, though. Would you expect to be automatically let in to any country you go to? Try that and see what happens. I looked into moving to Canada a few years ago. They have stricter immigration requirements than the U.S. and let in far fewer people legally than the U.S. lets in legally. That's the story in most places.
As for jobs... I don't understand why liberals get so excited about immigrants driving down labor costs and helping our corporations make cheaper products. Why is bolstering capitalism suddenly such a priority for liberals, the minute that immigrants become part of the discussion? I would think you would want higher labor costs so that workers have more clout. But you can't have that with an endless source of cheap labor. Also, you aren't taking into account that many of them are heavy users of social services, such as public education, emergency rooms, etc. Those things aren't cheap. Plus, do we really want to be overcrowded in our cities? Just when we seem to have population growth in our country under control...NOPE, got to have millions of new immigrants.
dukefan4evah02, on 04 January 2020 - 03:59 PM, said:
Vastly cheaper than importing the entire population south of the border who wants to move to the USA.
You either want to have unlimited, unrestricted immigration, or you don't. If you don't, then there has to be enforcement and we are just talking about details. So which is it?
EDIT: Also, welcome to the political discussion around here! You may find yourself in the minority at times, but don't let that discourage you. I'm a strong advocate of civil discourse, and won't tolerate flaming. Strawman arguments and other fallacies are to be expected and just go with the territory, though.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

I'm for immigration reform and streamlining the process. Legal and controlled immigration is a good thing.
Blaming something on Trump that happened back during Clinton's time (Flores Settlement), or that prior to Aug 2015 Obama separated families at twice the rate that is done today, but accounting it to the Donald, is just lazy orange-man bad rhetoric.
The child separation thing was because children could only be detained for roughly half the amount of time as an adult. The child is then placed in a foster home. They aren't ripped apart as soon as they're captured.
The Trump administration is the only administration to address this issue and try to keep families whole. He signed an executive order to keep families together.
Since there are traces of "all immigrants are dangerous animals" to the post being addressed, I take the opinion as ill-informed media parroting of Trump's MS-13 sound-bite.
Somebody already posted that if it weren't for a vast amount of illegals in the United States, then we wouldn't have a bunch of angsty pasty millennials dwelling in their parent's basement bitching about being socialists and getting free stuff. They'd be out working in the fields or doing manual labor jobs, learning some work ethics, & getting paid a living wage to do so. They either strive to rise in status and get a better job, or they stagnate and pick fruit until they're 65. They win, the economy wins, the country wins.
You want to complain about the orange man, address the policies that remove environmental protections, or the ones that promote crony/vulture capitalism instead of the free market.
The fat-cat uncontrolled budget/government spending is another issue that's going to bite the U.S. in the ass one of these days.

My personal opinion is that we should do a one-for-one swap. One worthless whiny millennial for one hard working person living in central/south america. At least they want to do something for a living wage, and a lot of them are catholic, so they have morals and ethics.
