Crash when using per-map art files

I am experimenting with grouping together several maps using the per-map art file feature (mapname_00.art). In this example, I have arranged LEM 1-4 as one-level episodes. Lem2-4 all use tiles014.art, so I renamed files like lem2_00.art, lem3_00.art, lem4_00.art.
However, EDuke32 crashes to desktop when starting a new game after loading maps in a specific order. I am unable to figure out the pattern. Remarkably, it crashes sooner with certain combinations than with others.

Crashes appeared in this sequence:
Numbers below represent the episode from the ingame menu. Last number is the episode that crashed.
How to test: Choose one episode, load. Then choose "New game", pick a different episode, load. Repeat (if possible).
21 (this means: Lem II loaded successfully, Lem I crashed --> etc)

In the EDuke32 log, these lines always appear after the crash:
current actor: 404 (4154) <-- values can be different
g_errorLineNum: 43, g_tw: 124 <-- always the same

Used EDuke32 build/config:
EDuke32 2.0.0devel r5326 (32-bit)
Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core i5/750 @2.67 GHz, 4GB RAM
nvidia GeForce 9500 GT (ForceWare 341.44)

How to use attached test file(s):
- Extract folder into EDuke32 dir
- Load EDuke32 with -jlemtest parameter
- Select "Lem Series" from EDuke32 menu

And it crashes consistently for a given pattern?

After choosing one episode, what am I supposed to load? Could you expand a bit to mention explicitly where you save a game?

This C-CON state dumps have rarely (if ever) helped debugging general crashes. Is an eduke32.crash.log file generated? (If yes, check its modification date to be sure it contains recent information.)

It there a reason you're running 32-bit EDuke32 on a 64-bit OS? Maybe the crash is 32-bit only; I haven't yet checked such a build.

Using r5326 (32-bit) from synthesis, I can't reproduce this either.

I am unable to use 64-bit builds on this machine here since it wouldn't work, EDuke32 would hang on startup. Never figured out why, PC has 4GB RAM and is working with a 64-bit Win7, but well.

The crash would happen already when loading the new episode/map, you wouldn't have to do anything. I will check this on my other PC at home with more RAM and Win10.
