I'm looking for a process for bundling together .grp files on Mac OSX. Has anyone ported KGroup to OSX? Or maybe to UNIX or LINUX (and thus, it's *likely* to work on OSX)?
Or is that even necessary anymore with EDuke32? I seem to recall that the docs indicate EDuke32 can read from .zip files...

EDuke32 can read from zip files, yeah, but kgroup/kextract should build and run on Linux (and hopefully OS X). Just execute "make" in the build subdir of the EDuke32 source and hopefully out will pop working copies of a few of the old BUILD utils after a hundred or so warnings.

Aha! Very cool. Thank you. I've got them up and running now. And only 29 warnings, actually!

XGroup is a great tool on Windows. But a quick look at the code suggests that it's written in VB and uses Windows Forms. You'd pretty much have to rebuild it from scratch for the Mac, which is what I'm developing on. Once I finish the stuff I'm currently working on, maybe I'll figure out how to do Mac app that has parity with Xgroup.
