Loading saves in the original game is a hit or miss prospect.
Sometimes a save will load after quitting & restarting the game.
Sometimes not.
But I got an error message on the last attempt to load a save -

Assertion failed: num >= 0 && num < DIGI_MAX game\src\sounds.cpp, line 805


and now that save file is shot, and I can't load it at all without getting a crash and that error.
So no Twin Dragons and no original episodes testing.

Forge, what about getting accustomed to Keyboard controls? I play fine with them on "I Have No Fear!" and i barely move my arms, just bind Smoke Bomb to W, Strafe Left and Right to S and D respectively, and everything will be much easier on your arms and shoulders.

I know it's not a super duper fantastic fix but while you wait, this should do it. (Also better use items via [, ] and Enter, and changing your weapons via cycling, or the numpad could also be good)

More on topic though, what are the reasons for Polymer's horrible deficiencies? Is it based on an older version of Polymost or what? The thing that puzzles me the most, is why is it so slow and the cameras don't work?

Wanton Destruction appears to be the only one that isn't having issues loading a save after quitting (yet).

Maybe it's relevant, but it's the only one of the three that doesn't require the sw.grp to be in the base directory to play
(though it has the same menu issue as TD - It gives 'Enter the Wang' & 'Code of Honor' as options. Enter the Wang loads Enter the Wang, Code of Honor loads Wanton Destruction)

Climbing up and down ladders with the forward and backward key is incredibly slow.
A two story ladder that normally takes a second to climb is taking about 20 seconds to climb.

Just use whatever your jump key is, it works a LOT better

Also, NEVER start climbing a tall ladder and then go backwards! You will fall from the top of the ladder somehow.

Super. I know that, but there's a point of reporting things that don't work like they're supposed to.
You can deal with using the jump button & having no decent way to climb down a ladder, I'd rather have it work properly like in the original game.

So, first it starts deleting game files without even telling me, and now it's telling me I have to wait 188 minutes to play Shadow Warrior because it's a rare file?

Avira doesn't do that without asking first.

I have funner issues with the save "fix"

tl;dw summary.
played, saved, didn't even quit, just loaded a save while playing to test it.
the map restarted to the very beginning of the level
weapons can't be selected or used
at one point after a couple loads, the enemy acts like it doesn't even see me until i move into a different sector.

I actually can't even start the game because it's a "Rare File", Avast is actually forcing me to wait 188 minutes!!!

I've never used Avast. You can check the CL's that made it into this branch(all commits on June 11th) https://github.com/j.../commits/master I'm not sure what to tell you to do.

Hm...
I remember there was a button to toggle whether or not you had your weapon holstered, but I forgot which one it was.
I think it was scroll lock. Either way, this should not be happening :P

I have been able to repo the problem. Give me a few minutes to fix it. So many fucking booby traps in this codebase.

I have fixed another crash in the branch(similar to a couple crashes Forge reported). This particular crash manifested on my end by loading a Twin Dragon map when in classic addon mode, then immediately loading a regular game map. Technically this is invalid gameflow, but there is a fix in the branch and will be in for the next patch.

Loading saves seems to be working so far, but if the player dies and chooses to restart the level instead of loading the last save - the problem is still present that the player can't arm or use weapons

I'm trying the version released on Github. The problem isn't Avast anymore, Avast has no problem running programs that were built on this computer (besides a 15 second scan :P )
I double click ShadowWarriorx64.exe and it quickly opens and then really quickly closes.

I should also mention I got a LOT of warnings when building.

Yeah github works great with tortoise svn, simply click update my repository, then open the .sln project file with vs2017 community edition. It compiles easily out of the box with one click.

I'm looking at this right now. The Shadow Warrior gamestate system is really fucking terrible. I've added re-writing the entire gamestate system to my todo list. Its fucking terrible.

So to confirm you have stopped trying to run the binary because Avast is fucking you up, and you compiled from source and the game exiting out on startup? Please make sure your swdata/scripts/user.lua is syned on your machine. The game exits out right now if user.lua doesn't compile correctly. I will provide a better feedback mechanism in future updates. If you are running the exe from visual studio please make sure your debug options are setup correctly.

Make sure your working directory is set to the root folder that you synced the data too.
