Seriously. Just... Just don't.
Fucking wait. Don't hate, but don't have optimism. You are dead inside as far as Duke Nukem is concerned.
This franchise does not deserve our excitement until we have something of substance and quality actually on it's way.
That's all i'm going to say until we see some shit.

Do they own those versions? If not that would mean paying even more royalties.
I have a hard time even believing the original DN3D add-ons will be there, and the absence of screenshots showcasing those only comforts me in that doubt.
If that's the case, the good thing is at least Caribbean Life won't be ruined.
Also, ruining the game's lighting and skyboxes actually take time, therefore money. Doing it also for Total Meltdown, DN64, Caribbean Life, Nuclear Winter and Duke It Out In DC more than doubles the work required.
Finally, they were aware of HTTK Edition, so the most efficient way to include the console versions' content seem to use that work, and TerminX stated Gearbox isn't interested in working with them at the moment.
Then again, they could have found a way to rip it off like they ripped off EDuke32 so maybe that doesn't mean anything. Or who knows, they could have the source material of the console versions.
Edit : But hey, you've had a good idea. Perhaps Gearbox will take the effort to include everything, if only to make sure even less copies of HTTK are sold.
You should apply to Gearbox, you'd make a good shark without even meaning to.
I apologize for all the cynicism. I blame the screenshots for my defense.

BTW, 3D Realms are sponsoring a party at PAX.
Scott Miller recently teased an announcement on Twitter and there's a Kickstarter in the works, too.

Well, DNF has a multiplayer component and Mass Effect is one of the biggest hits of the last decade, and a RPG at that. People don't usually stick around with single player campaign games. Still, it can't have done too well.

Oh jeez, the all-time stats for Bombshell don't look good at all.

That said, I just bought Bombshell. It's on sale on Steam.

I thought it was a pretty good game, but then I'm a fan of the genre. It certainly has some significant flaws though. Not to mention the not-so-smart move to make a niche/retro genre game which typically goes for 10-15€ tops and try to sell it for 30-40 or what it was.
(I haven't actually finished the game - god stuck on a progress-haltering bug near the end so I'm waiting for the next patch)

Misleading marketing in relation to what? Interceptor guys seem alright, when people complained about stuff in Rise of the Triad they made an effort to fix it instead of pulling a Randy and saying people don't know what they're talking about. I wasn't a fan of Bombshell, it was a bit of fun but it should have been a $15 title with better dialogue and not as stretched out.

I would figure due to the fact it was originally about to be a Duke game, then by the time promo kicked off, the main character's model looked completely different to the original Bombshell announcement.

In the end it might be good it wasn't a Duke game after all. Another mediocre or even subpar Duke game wouldn't be good at all for the IP.

I really liked the design that ended up in the DNF Balls of Steel art book thing. I wish they could have somehow been closer to that, maybe. Or, I wish even more that Bombshell was in DNF.

Looking forward to this. I'd like some announcement about a new Duke Game as well, but really looking forward to playing some more (official) DN3D after many years.

This is exactly the mentality I've been trying to hold... but it's hard. I don't like Gearbox, I don't like the direction they took Duke as a character with the redesign they gave him for DNF, and I'm worried that their Duke 3D re-release will have that awful mouse acceleration Megaton Edition had.
...but there's that part of you that just wants to believe. Suppressing it isn't easy.
Here's hoping.

There will be one, it just has to wait until an official announcement by Gearbox for various reasons unless someone who isn't myself or Yatta wants to write it and submit it.
I'm averse to covering or otherwise promoting content that trashes the Duke IP in the pursuit of quick money. In legal terms, we call it trademark dilution (tarnishment). Bazinga!

My guess is this addon will be quite good! But we'll see what we think when we see more. As for Bazinga, if it ends up in the game, what if the context is he sees the corpses of those two annoying characters from that sitcom? It would be funny in that instance.
(edit: though it would be fun if they had limited the pop culture references to 1996, to fit with Duke 3D. But then again it takes place in the near future, time is wild stuff)

I will download Bazinga and set everywhere I can as call, sms, notifications, alarm etc. Bazinga is life.
