Just a shame they didn't seem to have as good a grasp as top-down shooter as FPS. Looking forward to their next game though, hopefully in a genre they know better (FPS )

I had read the first few words as "Nukem returns" and then saw a glimpse of the trailer below it and for a second I thought it was an announcement of a new AAA Duke game and not just World Tour.
After having to take a second to read the rest, I realized it was for Call of Duty

Funny to think that DNF was unveiled 6 years ago at PAX!

I understand a prequel to an already stablished franchise but with a game from 20 years ago, some spins offs and an irrelevant title from 5 years ago a reboot would be the smartest move Gearbox could do commercially speaking. I don't want to start daydreaming but if they attach to a good 90's retrofurism/cyberpunk art direction and a good gameplay the story would be what people would care less about.

Duke Begins was always a terrible idea. Nobody played Duke for the story, prequels always suck and Duke's character was never about his background. God, I hope that's not what they're doing.

Well, I've always said Duke doesn't need to be rebooted. At least not any more than any of the previous games have been. I agree about the "90's retrofurism/cyberpunk" bit though, that's one thing from the previous games and trailers I really missed in DNF. I remember playing Hard Reset for the first time and just thinking "This is how I expected a Duke 3D follow-up to look".

The movie has gotten way better as it's aged so it'll be perfect for Duke.

Better let's think what is the worst that could happen...
World Tour is a new expansion pack with a new episode, the new episode is called Tits for the world, is mediocre in design, it has only 5 levels, new music is good (it will include the scrapped music like the original version of plasma as well as remixes and new themes by Lee Jackson him self) it will have one new enemy that will suck, and a new boss that would be kind of cool, the new engine will run like polymer speaking about fps since there isn't many large areas in the original game nor in the new episode, there will be bump map versions of the old textures everything in 8bit, it will have a nice next gen light layout, the new textures won't really fit the game, it won't have a map editor (sorry mappers) and controls will suck. There won't be a new duke game...

Will the Duke announcement be able to top this glorious 2008 trailer?

I know my idea is to keep it positive, but I don't think those expansions are very good. Life's a Beach has some fun stuff, first level or two a bit here and there, the other ones I find pretty dull. I'd rather they put some great fan-made episodes right in the main menu, if doing that. Just because it's interesting that seems some casual fans will try those because they're there, but haven't downloaded any maps. Imagine if say ADG episode, Roch, and Duke Hard were on there instead? I dunno, just a random thought.
I agree those addons should be free for people who want them though.

Let's just put NightFright's whole add-on compilation in there too actually. Is this doable?
