Shadow Warrior (1997) Physical CD Questions
#1 Posted 14 April 2016 - 03:24 PM
Question for those who own Shadow Warrior (1997)'s physical CD:
1) Is it a mixed-mode CD? (https://en.wikipedia...i/Mixed_Mode_CD)
2) Does it have a CD check on startup of the game in DOS, like the CD for Duke Nukem Atomic Edition 1.5 does?
[And regarding the 2nd question, I know it has a source port and can find that, before anyone asks].

Yea, I just realized that, but my 2nd question's still valid.

The MIDI fallback music doesn't work without the CD? That doesn't seem right.

There are only midis for the shareware version of the game. The midis for the other tracks were either not made or not released.

Where did the midis come from that are in SWP? Are those just shareware tracks?

I don't play any of the games with the music on anyways, it's distracting.
Unless of course you count the heretic map (e1m1) that I converted to Sw and enjoy playing it with the original midi from heretic.
