Doesn't he need the atomic version? (not sure though)

What happened to my original post, and the response which had useful info? I haven't booted into windoze for a few days, so haven't been able to try the suggestion, and now I see the suggestion is gone!?!

To re-state the problem: The HRP is crashing (bombs back out to windoze) when I try to start a game (during the loading screen).

IIRC, The missing reply said that my vid card was the problem, and that I should try switching to software rendering. This works: I can play, but it looks terrible - none of the HRP content is being loaded. I tried switching back to OpenGL rendering in-game, and it works... for a minute or so, after which it hangs my whole machine and it's hard reset time.

So are there any other suggestions, or am I stuck playing duke3d without the HRP content (that would suck)?

Is there a way I can get some more verbose output and give it to the devs to maybe get this fixed?

I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer... :P

Regards,
-AntiSol

It was probably deleted because there is already a sticky thread for this.

Anyhow, You could try update those horrible Intel video drivers I would say to try the -forcegl command but you have stated that your whole PC locks up after playing for a few minutes. So if updating the drivers does not work then you are out of luck till you can get a decent video card I am afraid.

aaaaah, my post got moved into that thread.

grrr, I'm using the latest drivers, and it's a laptop, so getting a better vid card isn't really an option. damn. I'll try -forcegl and see how it goes.

Thanks for your response! duke Theft auto looks like fun! :P

Make sure your vid card supports OpenGL.
