Ion Fury  "formerly Ion Maiden, launching August 15!"

They need to launch this properly. Bombshell was DOA, Rad Rodgers is DOA. Their marketing and PR is absolute fucking horseshit so god damn fucking bad like who the shit is even fucking managing this like what the christ is going on over there? Rise of the Triad was publicized EVERYWHERE and these titles are invisible as fuck. I wish Voidpoint, Interceptor and 3DR the best in the future and hope this FPS BUILD prequel is successful. Maybe bundle it with a polished re-release of Bombshell for a bargain price of $20 or $15. Bombshell itself is worth absolutely nothing and sold shit all so it'd be a free bonus.

I look forward to playing this and hope it leads to more REAL retro shooters in future but to 3DR/Interceptor - I hope your marketing guy isnt in any important position at your company because he's shit at his job. Oh, and whoever suggested Bombshell be full priced at release knows nothing about marketing or consumer trends and should be immediately fired.

I am under the impression that Rad Rodgers is received slightly more positiv, but i have doubts too, that this will be enough. The genre is more of a niche today.

Bombshell was a bad idea from the beginning. An game set in a genre which is a niche aswell, mixed with an absolute generic sci-fi setting is doomed from the start.

I for myself hope too that this Build Sequel will be more successful, but i have my doubts.

In the end, whoever makes the decisions at Interceptor/3D Realms should rethink his strategy, i fear at the moment they are steering into a possible closure.

Rad Rodgers critical reception has been quite positive and in my opinion it's a great game. I finished the game and loved it but sales wise it's a failure at the moment. There's no publicity for it anywhere, even their own social media accounts are doing extremely little to spread word which is why I believe they need to look at whoever is running their public relations and marketing because they're doing a damn awful job.

Bombshell isn't a terrible game. It needed a hell of a lot more time in development and QA sessions as most of the games issues are so in your face they're impossible to ignore but had they priced it much lower and cut out all the filler shit that drags on forever I think it could have sold fairly well.

I want the BUILD FPS to be a success but I don't know if it's going to be if whoever at Interceptor/3D Realms is responsible for marketing their last two games markets this too. Voidpoint has my sale but someone needs to talk to Frederik Schreiber and point out what is obvious to all of us.

Holy sweet jesus, how did I miss all these new screenshots!?
Prequel looks absolutely fabulous.

God I hope that bomb works the same as it did in Bombshell game. Just throw it and let it roll towards baddies and hear satisfying boom. Come to think of, I hope all the sounds remain beefy as they did in Bombshell.

Rad Rodgers still seems to be a work in progress. I got Rad Rodgers but I'm going to wait until World One is more or less "complete" or at least hasn't been updated for a while to give it a try.

On being a hit, I know there are sites tracking steam players but overall I don't know how popular the countless indie/retro style games on steam are. I think Bombshell could get a following, since there is a big oldschool FPS fandom out there, especially into Doom it seems. But there are so many games on steam, almost feels like oversaturation. At least this is in a genre that is less represented on there.

That said, I'm excited and will get it day one, and I usually leave worrying about sales to the devs. I agree it would be nice to have retro shooters with real level design catch on.

Halo 5 which is absolute trash anyway.

Hey now, it may have been ass on launch, but Halo 5's multiplayer is fantastic after the post-release updates, they really turned it around. An absolute blast with all of the custom game modes and forge maps. It's on PC as well, by the way, just lacks the shitty singleplayer campaign, which is no real loss. The multiplayer, with full server browser is there, the only thing missing is the pay-to-win Warzone mode.

Rad Rodgers IS finished. They've taken it out of beta and launched it as a complete title. It's actually up to their v1.1 release. Each world is a different game. This game is finished.

I know it's out of Early Access, not saying I'm waiting for more worlds. I'm guessing there are going to be more patches in the near future though, so I might as well wait. (plus I'm playing other stuff). Maybe it's more polished than I thought though. Either way, I bought it, hope they do well.

Really? I'm a bit surprised. There hasn't been big fanfare or anything. Are they going to start advertising it?

What surprised me about that title was they made the game to appeal to pre-teens but then they go and throw in vulgar language & mature subject matter. I don't know too many adults that would sit themselves down infront of that style of game. Had they kept the voice acting for mixed crowds (E rating) they could have appealed to a much larger audience.

Absolutely no to the E rating; at the very least, give it a Teen rating ala Ratchet and Clank/Jak series

That's sort of the point. They've made it out to look like a kid's movie but then it's got all this adult content, which is meant to make a sort of humorous contrast. Kind of like Sausage Party (a movie).

Besides, they've said that they want you to feel the way that you did when you played your first side scroller, i.e they're trying to appeal to the kid in everyone.

You're right though in that they're cutting out the child market somewhat. If there's some kind of parent control like in Duke 3D that might just do it.

The switch to the Unreal engine was simply a business decision, and it came down to what we wanted to do with the Bombshell Prequel and how best to achieve it. The game should not be significantly delayed but it will take a little time to get up to speed with the new engine and learn how to exploit it. Fortunately, all of our game data will transfer very easily and we see being back to where we were within a month to 6 weeks.

Now I'm waiting for the 2001 2017 trailer with orchestral music, a lot of action montage and heroic quotes about saving the world all by herself and yada yada.

Does Bombshell Prequel using now Unreal engine?

I am also confused now. Did you port Bombshell Prequel from our loved one-and-only-reason-why-we-would-f*cking-play-this-game-BUILDENGINE to Unreal????

I believe that despite the engine change the game should still be out before Unreal 3.
