The build invocation for fury.exe is now simply "make FURY=1".

What bothers me the most, is that journos are blowing out of proportions the whole thing, and of course most of the gamers are outraged. I just wish there was more outrage in the media and among gamers, when companies pull this stupid BS. What I'm mean gamers, can already expect that EA and Activision will put microtransactions in their games. Bethesda will outright try to scam its customers, and Ubisoft will continue being Ubisoft.

That, being said, at least Voidpoint didn't insult its customers like that BioWare designer, or said don't like don't buy it. The more I write, the more I see downright idiotic statements this company put out, and people still buy their products.

Of course I'm disappointed with 3D Realms action, but I would blame them more than Voidpoint. In the very least Ion Fury was fun, had good levels and atmosphere and more interactivity then modern AAA games. All of this with a small budget. I more disappointed with the community manger of 3D Realms for banning people, and 3D Realms in general, but not the devs of the game.

With all of this being said, I wish that the gaming industry would push for more quality games, than focus on some nonsense politics, that the rest of the world doesn't care about and focus on making better games.

Also, those idiots at ResetEra and other game journos didn't complain about the game will it was in development, only when it started gaining traction on-line. I've been following the project development from time to time, and had hoped that it would succeed. And all of the sudden as soon as we get a good FPS, here come the journos and shills to attack the game. It's like they don't want good games. I guess people already knew that.

No, they scream loud but only are a few and only represent themselves !

On an other hand, what about achievements ?
What about multilanguage support ?

Anyone else having problems with the ion bow's hit detection? To put it simply sometimes your bows don't go where your crosshair is.

To me it seems as if it has some sort of autoaiming activated. Dunno if that's intended, though.

Are you using autoaim? I turned off autoaim and I'm using the pistol, shotgun, machine gun, and crossbow all for headshots exclusively, and they work just fine.

I have no autoaim and noticed the same problem, the bow went above crosshair, away from the enemy. Doesn't happen to often though.

My bow sometimes go too high up and sometimes too low. It's weird but I think it tend to happens more often if you're close to wall or something.

There have been a few requests, bust mostly just because I can:
I[r]on Fury build for Win32
Don't ask me or even the developers for further support, though.

Yeah it seems the bow has forced and very strong auto-aim -- I took this to be a feature, not a bug. I actually like it because even though I play with auto-aim off, I can hit unseen enemies at long range in the dark with it. If it wasn't for that feature I honestly don't think the bow would have much of a niche in the weapon lineup.

I think that the hitboxes overall seem large enough so you should be able to hit headshots consistently with the bow even without auto aim. The problem with how it is currently is that sometimes it just doesn't work: you aim for the head, shoot and the bow goes meters above your crosshair. :(

Beautiful work, guys. Haven't beaten it yet (~12 hours in), but what I've played is top notch. GOTY 2019, probably, and maybe the best FPS since HL2?

Was unable to capture it, but it has lightning, in the sky, if you just look long enough.

Yeah, yeah, Shelly plays with the coins by then, but ... so much details, you'd miss some true mapping art, if you rush through it.

I'm looking around a fair bit, but not being obsessive about finding everything for the first playthrough.
There's a ton to see in the levels, really quality stuff.

I posted this in Ion Fury mapping, but probably should be here

Test map option in mapster doesn't work, it gives me a "error launching the game!", using gog version. Tried renaming the exe to fury.exe (by default is fury_nodrm.exe) doesn't make a difference.

I'm using the editor posted above, everything else seems to work fine, i can load the map from the console just fine.

UPDATE: after renaming fury_nodrm.exe to eduke32.exe test map works fine.

I have the Ion Fury files and i'm using the Mapster32 that comes with them. When using the "test map" option, Mapster tries to call eduke32.exe instead of the Ion Fury executable. Is this intended?

There's no Eduke32.exe provided with the editor, so i'm assuming is not needed.

No
you need the new Eduke 32
it has support for Ion Fury
you can't test your maps without it

...Ok, i don't get why, but if that's how you do it, that's how you do it.

I really don't undertand why mapster can't just call the game executable provided with the game, that's the version i'm making the map for to begin with.

Is there a comprehensive list of all the stuff that was changed in the "SJWgate" patch on Steam? I would like to preserve the game in its current "humor state" of v1.0 once more useful updates are deployed. At least game castration has not reached the 3DR release. Yet.

That's it? I gotta say I hardly noticed that... provided I already passed a section that has this. The game gets review-bombed on Steam for THIS? In which world are we f'ing living these days, for crying out loud.
