Could an option to skip the setup screen be added? right now you can only select resolution and toggle fullscreen from there.
I'm talking about this
Eduke already has one, so why not?

Just add -nosetup to the command line arguments.
For steam, right click the game on your library > properties > set launch options then type -nosetup.
For GOG Galaxy click on the game on your library > more > settings, check the box that says 'add command line arguments' and in the box below type -nosetup.

They're probably trying to idiotproof for people who wouldn't know how to reactivate it if they wanted to or turned it off by accident. Lots of games have command line parameters like that. It's not that bizarre.

Yeah, that was actually my first thought when someone asked to get rid of that launcher window.

couldn't they just add a "show setup" checkbox in options then? GZDoom has something like that, for example. What's the point of that screen anyway? you can change resolution, renderer and toggle fullscreen from options.
I understand Eduke has it to select the expansions, enable/ disable autoload, stuff you can't do from ingame.

Probably in case the game somehow sets a resolution unsupported by the GPU/display?

The build invocation for fury.exe is now simply "make FURY=1".

What bothers me the most, is that journos are blowing out of proportions the whole thing, and of course most of the gamers are outraged. I just wish there was more outrage in the media and among gamers, when companies pull this stupid BS. What I'm mean gamers, can already expect that EA and Activision will put microtransactions in their games. Bethesda will outright try to scam its customers, and Ubisoft will continue being Ubisoft.
That, being said, at least Voidpoint didn't insult its customers like that BioWare designer, or said don't like don't buy it. The more I write, the more I see downright idiotic statements this company put out, and people still buy their products.
Of course I'm disappointed with 3D Realms action, but I would blame them more than Voidpoint. In the very least Ion Fury was fun, had good levels and atmosphere and more interactivity then modern AAA games. All of this with a small budget. I more disappointed with the community manger of 3D Realms for banning people, and 3D Realms in general, but not the devs of the game.
With all of this being said, I wish that the gaming industry would push for more quality games, than focus on some nonsense politics, that the rest of the world doesn't care about and focus on making better games.
Also, those idiots at ResetEra and other game journos didn't complain about the game will it was in development, only when it started gaining traction on-line. I've been following the project development from time to time, and had hoped that it would succeed. And all of the sudden as soon as we get a good FPS, here come the journos and shills to attack the game. It's like they don't want good games. I guess people already knew that.

On an other hand, what about achievements ?
What about multilanguage support ?

Anyone else having problems with the ion bow's hit detection? To put it simply sometimes your bows don't go where your crosshair is.
#3445 Posted 21 August 2019 - 01:14 PM
To me it seems as if it has some sort of autoaiming activated. Dunno if that's intended, though.
#3446 Posted 21 August 2019 - 01:14 PM
Are you using autoaim? I turned off autoaim and I'm using the pistol, shotgun, machine gun, and crossbow all for headshots exclusively, and they work just fine.
#3447 Posted 21 August 2019 - 01:21 PM
I have no autoaim and noticed the same problem, the bow went above crosshair, away from the enemy. Doesn't happen to often though.

My bow sometimes go too high up and sometimes too low. It's weird but I think it tend to happens more often if you're close to wall or something.

There have been a few requests, bust mostly just because I can:
I[r]on Fury build for Win32
Don't ask me or even the developers for further support, though.

Yeah it seems the bow has forced and very strong auto-aim -- I took this to be a feature, not a bug. I actually like it because even though I play with auto-aim off, I can hit unseen enemies at long range in the dark with it. If it wasn't for that feature I honestly don't think the bow would have much of a niche in the weapon lineup.
