Any hope to release a playable prototype? Maybe someone from the Doom community could help you out with development? The art you've shown is pretty awesome as it is but there are some nice gameplay and story concepts too.

What sort of setbacks are you facing?

That's extremely sad to hear. The game looked very promising and appealing, and was really one of very few games I was looking forward to. Hope you find some way to proceed.

Coronavirus

Spoiler

I want to fix up what I have and release the art both by itself as well as prototypes I have, so if someone wanted to use my characters to simply swap with an enemy from Doom or Duke or something or to use my original coding for how the enemies should work, they could do both.

I'm also still not 100% on stopping, but its more likely than not right now.

That would be a quick fading. I think we only had a handful of complete games (not counting all the current early access) and it seems most of them are good (can only judge Dusk and Project Warlock so far). Now, if everyone goes in the Doom / Quake direction like Dusk first and now Prodeus, Wrath, Hell Hunt, HellBound... it may end up boring people. But it could just evolve, like there is the current wave of super fast, movement based shooters, and the next one coming might be more like immersive sims. Personally I started mine in 2016, it's kind of a mix of duke, half life and immersive sim. Kinda like an action/arcade immersive sim. On facebook indie groups, I notice they usually don't give a damn about retro shooters, but recently a couple wolfenstein-likes got some good attention, but I guess most devs there are into pixel arts. Personally I doubt the future is in games similar to Gun Godz when we had Project Warlock, that would feel like a regression.
