I think it was confirmed somewhere that Duke gets shrunken down in size and has to play through a portion of that Casino level small. Hence why he's riding around in an remote control car. [EDIT] Beaten.
The environments look great though... aside from that monster truck... but that could just be an early model.

I think there were originally some documents with the plot for DNF, but zchri9 has taken the original file offline and replaced it with what you see now. BTW, I sent a PM to zchri9 and asked him to send me those documents.

The Rapidshare link on the first page contains the screenshots.

(6 / 10) + (4 / 10) + (8 / 10) + (4 / 10) + (0 / 10) + (7 / 10) + (4 / 10) + (6 / 10) + (5 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (6 / 10) + (2 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (5 / 10) + (6 / 10) + (2 / 10) + (8 / 10) + (7 / 10) + (9 / 10) + (5 / 10) + (4 / 10) = 15.2
15.2 / 25 = 0.608=60.8%

60.8% done confirmed?

1) the whole plot has a general "meh" feel, it's definitely not epic
2) "Duke plays his own video game beating the Cycloid Emperor while having sex with the Holsom Twins" sounds like a bad attempt to write a Duke fan fiction
3) "After beating his own Video Game while having sex with the wholesome Twins" - note the repetition of "having sex" and misspelling "Holsom" as "wholesome": it reads like something a horny 12-year-old with no full grasp of spelling would write
4) "Duke acquires a Jet Pack from a young fan" is clearly a self-insertion: typical in low-grade fanfictions, where the author introduces himself as a character in his own work
5) "Reaching a Buffet/Theatre" - the British spelling of the word "theater" is used, which makes no sense for an American guy working for an American company
6) there is no mention of Duke being shrunk and driving RC cars in his own casino, despite the existence of A LOT of screenshots showing that - maybe because the screenshots were released AFTER the "developer's brother interview", so whoever wrote the fake plot couldn't know it yet
7) "Duke is thrown clear from her afterbirth explosion up into the Stratosfaer infestation": another misspelling, which indicates lack of professionality
8) there is no mention of riding mine carts, which is clearly shown in Bryan Brewer's demo reel
9) the whole Fathership stuff reminds me of an old joke that appeared in the late 1980s or the early 1990s in an Italian gaming magazine
10) the mention of gravity puzzles is a Prey ripoff, which indicates lack of fantasy to invent something original, typical of a fanboy who SHUNS originality and prefers stuff evoking nostalgia of something he already played
11) Gus is not mentioned at all, maybe because an old bearded man does not stimulate the fantasy of a horny 12-year-old nerd

But we don't know anything of Gus. It might have been scrapped out, I guess.

To me, the plot is just perfect: self-humor and a great variety in the situations.
By the way, new shots here: http://3dprofessional.blogspot.com/

spelling was never a strong point of 3dr. there is some really weird spelled stuff in the duke 3d source code if you would look it up. also didn't george misspell his own name in one of his early games?

BULLSHIT
It sounds like an actual Duke game for the first half of it, and then... umm, well, what the fuck?
Some pretty big spoilers
Also (not very big of a spoiler),
In all honesty, I think this plot is half true, half not. I dunno why only half of it would be true, but it gets so ridiculously weird in the second half as if someone is just lying to you and not allowing that part of the game to actually get leaked.
The few that have even read the plot might agree.
#358 Posted 11 May 2009 - 06:34 PM
How is it really that far-fetched, anyways?? After all, this IS Duke Nukem, so we should except some wacky stuff to be going on.
And when they said the whole game "would be played through Duke's eyes", they meant no 3rd person shooting sequences a la TTK.
AND that quote is ancient; so much could have changed since then.
#359 Posted 11 May 2009 - 06:39 PM
I mean
Theres many other points, but its just. I dunno. Its too weird of a plot, even for Duke.
#360 Posted 11 May 2009 - 06:40 PM
Like, how does anyone know Rick actually leaked them? Is it assumed so just because his name was marked as the person who wrote the document? Or was it on a personal website like some of the pics were?
