That's true but it would be cool. The textures in the screenshots released there mostly remind me of Redneck Rampage I am just hoping the game goes more towards what Bombshell is rather then the gritty Redneck textures and Shadow Warrior train stations
The actual Bombshell game in general is very abstract I think her life before the game should be to. Even Bombshell says things that somehow compare her present with her past. Which made me think it would be in someway similar to that. Either way I'm sure I will enjoy but just giving up some thoughts on it.

I was quite underwhelmed by the screenshots from the sense of architecture and conceptual grandness. I'm really hoping they try to push the build engine to the limit, for example Davox's levels in the DNF DLC episode. They've essentially shown a tunnel and the world's smallest open space when IMO they should be aiming for much larger environments. Considering the talent involved with the project, we should be seeing much, much better.
Of course given the circumstances in which those shots have been 'leaked' at this early stage, I'm still hopeful that we will.

Those 2 screenshots ...
...What do you guys think? Am I wrong?
Finally is it possible to know what's the status on the game, I thought it was supposed to be a free promotional game release for Bombshell, but that is obviously not the case if it comes out at the end of the year. Does this mean it won't be free?
To be honest, I like the general look of them. The railroad tunnel reminds me of Blood and the other one is a tad weird but i take it´s abstract art. I think your concerns are more related to you expecting something different. I think the art is solid and has personality.

I'm sure there's some really grand areas and set pieces in the rest of the levels.

Bombshell started as a stillbirth, I hope Interceptor improves their marketing strategy or the prequel will get another stillbirth phenomena.
publish this shit on CG Artist or equivalent then!
I feel sorry for the hard working artist though, lets hope their work gets seen by the 'right' people at the right time.

Also looks like that the jpeg compression is really taking it's toll and it looks like everything has been run across a sharpening filter or something weird

Ah, I didn't know that. But still, why deciding to release that? We don't need to be proven the project actually exists. Show something with substance instead, not something that should go in the "What are you working on right now" thread .

I don't really expect anything, except style. Each Build game has its definite, unique, visual style. My point was those two screenshots point at different styles merged together (some remind of RR, some remind of Blood or SW, and then you have some low res textures reminiscent of early Build versions games like Powerslave ; and with design set pieces that look straight from contemporary DN3D usermaps).
If I could make my own Build game, my "dream style" would be something like "Indiana Jones fights Cthulhu in middle and south America"; but that's not what I'd expect from Bombshell. I don't expect anything from it, but style.

Judging a whole game off a WIP shot that wasn't meant to be seen by the public seems silly however.

There is some really nice artwork in there. It's a shame that the game was isometric as these guys did a nice job.
Interesting to see what looks like a Cyborg Duke and 'Tentacle soldiers' that seem to be inspired by early DNF concepts.

I wonder if they will design it as if it were the 90s again, with less limitations, or if it'll be as close to a modern game as can be on a BUILD engine, only with sprites.
I kinda hope it has gritty sound quality and MIDI though, but that may be too old school to do now.
