I liked Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption. I can't remember another third person game I liked as much. I played this game through three times which is a lot for me! I also liked No One Lives Forever and played this through twice. (I may have played Tomb Raider three times and Deus Ex twice.) I cannot remember any other games I played more than once. Oh, yes.I did play Duke Nukem 3D almost through to the end. I forgot to finish it because the space levels bored me a lot. I liked DN3D a lot and raved for ages about it. I played some episodes again but never from scratch.
I can't get in to Bombshell as a person. Her robotic arm and latex cat suit doesn't do anything for me. She is badass which scores a lot of points but she's only one step away from being found in a dumpster. Talk about super cliché!
I have wondered if the FPS game might be better. I only have my imagination and speculation to fuel me though because I know nothing about this game. I wouldn't want to hope too much or judge the game too harshly when it arrives if it doesn't meet my expectations.

The only really negative trope it hits is boob armor. But hell, I think we can deal with that.

This is what her costume looked like to me. I was, like, bare breasts jammed up to her chin and uuuuuuh a catsuit. I don't like her robotic arm either. It doesn't look very nice and makes her look too war like. She's broken like she is a victim of bad lifestyle choices.
Women strategise differently. One issue which arises from this is the trope that a woman must behave like a man to succeed. I think this is one downside to equality. Once you open the lid on this unfortunately everything else rushes in with it too. This itself is a big discussion. What kind of politics or leadership would you like? Should we keep pursuing the existing path or have a dialectic where alternatives are explored?
A specific design point is the issue that the design style is following the dominant in-house Hollywood style which a lot of game developers follow too. The design is a little over-pumped and over-stylised.
I actually do own a buckle up leather corsellete. I forgot I owned this as I never wear it. It's okay. I mean, it is what it is. It's I'm not confident wearing this and don't want to feel like I'm on show. It's also not brilliantly comfortable. Thinking of this I know the US army has experimented with women's body armour. The front is better designed to accommodate breasts and the back doesn't dig in so much. The UK is appalling by comparison. UK uniform design especially of police uniforms have gravitated towards uniforms for men and women essentially looking the same. The attitude seems to be that police women are like policemen only shorter. It's like the complete opposite view to this game like the police are scared women have breasts or it's not an important issue so the police have a lot of disguised machismo and sexism. On the plus side the police were audited and a report concluded the police had issues. I know there are more important things to worry about but appearance and comfort do matter. If men were jammed into these things I bet they would be improved overnight!
For some reason I always imagined Bombshell was an older woman so this game is being ageist too.
This is just my point of view. I know people disagree and don't dislike the things I personally dislike, or like the things I like!
Ignore me. I'm the wrong target market. If you enjoy this game carry on!
Good grief. I yack a bit.

One question, anybody know if the Build Prequel is done? I noticed the earlier press release said something about including a Beta with the game, wasn't sure if that was just a multiplayer beta for the bulld thing or a beta for it in general.

The FPS prequel is expected to release in late 2016, but if you get the digital deluxe edition you get Beta Access.

Thanks. When it's done as they say, a Duke fan is ever patient.

I'm hoping it's a pretty large-sized game. It only took Gambini and Mikko a few months to throw together DNF 2013 and they did it in their spare time. Then again the Bombshell prequel will have art and enemies done from scratch so that'll slow things down. I have a feeling Davox might be working on it fairly full time but that's just a guess.

I feel uncomfortable about the FPS-Prequel's release date (late 2016). Apart from that I am looking forward to that 1000 more than the actual main game*.
*) Unless that is easily moddable and someone maks a great FPS-mod for it.

The gun in the prequel shots and the gun in all of the media released for Bombshell are the same mesh.
