Duke Nukem 3D (CROSSOVER) Doom mod  "Help recreate the first episode, Knee Deep in the Dead, of Doom!"

Not sure if this has been done, but I think it would be a nice mod to make for Duke Nukem 3D and Doom fans. Even for people who have never heard of Doom can at least experience the first episode in Duke 3D. This is what I would like for this "mod" to happen.

I will need:
-People who are skilled map makers.
-Someone with experience in CFG scripting for Duke 3D
-A HUGE Doom fan, who can tell where to place weapons and such.
-Devoted fans and crew!

I'm not asking for a whole lot, but I am looking for at least 6 people who would like to help in this project. Doom E1M1 and E1M9 have already been made by me, so no need to worry about those maps. And I actually want this to be a legit mod. No Doom2Duke converters please! I want each map to be hand-crafted and well designed. I'm not asking for them to be 3x better than Doom's maps, but I expect them to be replicas. Maps that I can easily identify by the first or second room. Anyone willing to help, please leave a reply below. I really want this to happen, and I want players to enjoy the first episode of Doom in the comfort of Duke Nukem's environment!

There are roughly fourteen TCs like this from yesteryears and seeing how they've all managed to be terrible, I think it's a good idea not to even try to infuse the two games together.

I'm wondering why do you want the maps to be replicas, but disallow the use of converters, that doesn't make any sense.

Also if you want to edit the CFG, run SETUP.EXE.

No one of the experienced guys will jump on your train until you prove that you are able to significantly contribute to your own project. Even then I'm somewhat sure that most of them have more than enough ideas on their own which just can't come true due to the lack of spare time.
You might want to read somewhat similar (to me) threads which might explain why no one shouts hooray on this topic:

I see this a lot in racing sim communities. A guy appears out of nowhere and says he wants to start a project but asks for people who can make cars, tracks, etc. because all he can do is edit some text.

I wouldn't want to play Doom in Build engine because Doom's maps require its limitations (e.g. no jumping) otherwise gameplay is broken.

What you *could* do is make a set of original maps with Doom's weapons, items and monsters and taking advantage of Build's unique features, but then it wouldn't be Doom anymore and you could just make your game in ZDoom or something instead.

I thought the "I would like at least 6 people who would like to help me in this project" was pretty good.

If huge, established, mega-awesome TCs like WGRealms 2 and the AMC TC, with their thousands of new art tiles, multiple episodes, hugely overhauled gameplay and code barely have 6 people between them constantly working on stuff, there's no way 6 people are going to stick their hand up for this.

As it's already been mentioned:
a: The maps already exist in Doom so the mod wouldn't be very original, and people would just play it for the novelty.
b: If the maps are going to be remade from hand, the work is extremely tedious, and there'd be no reason not to use converters. (Although use of converters would still require some fixing and tweaking of the maps.) Definitely not worth the time invested in it.
c: Multiple Doom mods and/or takes on Doom have already been done. Hell I worked on one myself.
d: People don't have much free time for mapping, and even if they did, they'd be working on their own, more original projects which they themselves are passionate about, and have control over.
e: In the eyes of the wider Duke community you've basically come out of nowhere and set yourself up to be leader of a group of people who may have higher mapping skill than you, and who don't know your own skill level/leadership ability/determination (a lot of mods are abandoned half way through).

@StarCraftZergling. I can see you are passionate about mapping and doom; you've got some Doom related stuff on Steam already, but for the above reasons no one is going to put their hand up for this.

You have sufficient skill, and the Doom maps are simple enough, that you shouldn't have too much trouble getting it done yourself though. It might take a while (but still a lot less time than several other projects currently in development), but you can eventually get it done.

Lmao , I even find this post funny myself. I'ts like you are saying " I need everything because i don't know what i'm doing myself" You are a bad person and rage master on steam and act like you are top gun. But the well known and well respected Dukes have nothing for you. Leave another comment like that on my profile kid it's hilarious that you would take out time in your day to type like 5 paragraphs of hate on my steam profile fag. Doom mod.... that has been worked on so many times haha shows how original you are.
