How would the flashlight have worked?

Edit: Even with 1000 health I bet Hendricks would still reload a save game when taking any minor damage Posted Image

Has the Sonic Resonator or the Laser Chainsaw appeared as a working weapon in any of the betas?

The enemies dealt me heavy damage. Even though I opened the exe in a hex editor to find the cheats, I couldn't manage to turn on god mode. So that was the next best thing.

Knowing BUILD, not well--and that's why they took it out. B)

I haven't seen anything that matches up to the Sonic Resonator concept art and pickup sprite from LameDuke. I can't positively identify anything I've seen as the laser chainsaw (not everything has a name attached), but I would hypothesize that it was one of the many evolutions of the Freezer. See the concept art that says "Caterkiller", a name fit for a power tool--I have seen that text on a sprite. I can't say any more.

The flashlight was the thing that looked like this and was replaced with the NVG, correct?

So is this public somewhere or is this being shared only with a select few members for some inexplicable reason?

That's just 0.99 Shareware with some custom artwork.

Edit: It's not, I see font.

None, except KICK_HIT plays when you get the pickup (same as Pig Cop-dropped armor).

Yes.

Damn son, it's been ages since I have seen Total Meltdown's title screen (well, looks like it), although I don't remember the Bloodbath difficulty.

An official enhanced source port ala Megaton Edition wouldn't bring in nearly enough to cover the likely millions needed for purchasing the IP, along with lawyer fees. Despite what people on here occasionally think, Blood is a pretty niche game and wouldn't move nearly enough units of a paid source port to make acquiring the IP worth it. Unless you somehow managed to make Blood mainstream or get it endorsed by major opinion leaders to convince people to buy the token source port on Steam in masses, it's better off rotting in IP hell from a financial point of view. Since finances ultimately are the reason why games are made, Blood is screwed for the time being.

I suspect that whoever owns Blood and could do this themselves hasn't done it for the same reason. Whatever revenue they'd get from re-releasing the game is chump change to them.

 MYHOUSE.MAP, on 28 April 2014 - 01:04 PM, said:

The problem with that is that you'd piss off whoever owned the IP, so good luck trying to convince them to greenlight something like a beta being released.

The point is to do this as an under the table thing. Not tip them off that you made the project as a fake. In fact, this should be under way right now and all posts relating to it edited/deleted.

 MYHOUSE.MAP, on 28 April 2014 - 02:46 PM, said:

Hell, you could probably MAKE a new IP and game for it with the amount of money getting the Blood IP and making a source port of it would cost.

Hypertension, yo.

TX and Hendricks are helping 3DR ready these things for release.

Any chance to find PC version of the "Plug 'N' Prey" episode maps ? The one available on PSX version of Duke Nukem 3D (Total Meltdown)

Fred is looking, but we've extracted the maps out of the Total Meltdown data already.

Interesting findings! I find them really awesome and please keep them up. Although maybe N64 version shares something as well...
Gotta be honest though. It's weird to know that a hackable Duke Nukem 3d Mega Drive Game made long ago shared the same spacesuit, even exactly the same item display name. Hell, they even used the unused flame sprites that came from the ground.

The Space Suit is used differently in the Genesis version of DN3D. The original Space Suit was meant to be used while just walking in any area that's in the vacuum of space, but the Genesis one seems to use it as as tool for really ghetto "space walks".

I'm wondering, how many textures were intended for use with the maps near-release, but were deleted due to not being used?
