The Future of 3D Realms - Fan Feedback!

True, perhaps I went a little overboard with that last statement. The new logo may not be breathtakingly wonderful, but I honestly believe that it does its job just fine. I wouldn't call it "confusing" or "shoddy". If fresch and his crew make some great and memorable games, the new logo will surely become just as iconic and recognized as the original one. B)

Or it will still look like bland crap.

It's not crap. I like it. It has problems that need working out. That's all. I kind of like the escher illusion look they're going for, but it's not immediately recognizable.

Website looks great Fred B) Also it was very nice to hear you'll still be using the old 3DR logo.

Are you going to redesign the 3DR forum?

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I put on my old red/blue 3D glasses and there actually is a slight 3D effect in this one.

Too bad Fred's shot of the Duke3D page doesn't pan down a bit more and show where I didn't finish writing the content and wrote "Lorem ipsum Dukem Nukem" instead. B)

By that logic you have to like Call of Duty and Dub Step.

Lol you know very well I have an appreciation for Dub Step.

I just think in this instance it's not as big a deal and that the subject in question (the logo) actually has some merit.

They should just use TX's logo, its much better then the FD Realms one.

I see that you have removed Pentium support. The users will revolt.

Are you saying that Duke 3D won't run on my gateway 2000 P5-60?
0

#498

Trivial crap: Duke Nukem 3D was unplayable at any setting on my P60 with an Intel Batman mobo... The same setup used by Gateway. It was outstripped by one 486SX's, a DX2-66 and a heavily tweaked P75 which scored lower in benchmarks than the P60 with said tweaks as it was built to sit in the P60 performance range.

So no, chances are it won't work on your Gateway and even if it did, you'll probably corrupt the hard drive in the process due to the horrible drive controllers those Intel boards used (CMD640/RZ-1000). I think they ran better in Win 95 and the OS had some bugfixes built in however... Now my post is constructive, because it's history that is relevant to the good old Apogee/3D Realms days.

Whilst I'm here, that site looks fine. I'm not into modern web design, all looks like Tablet OSes to me and that just isn't my cup of tea. But those interfaces work and everything looks neatly integrated.

Runs fine on my old gateway, needs a new monitor though, mines going bad.

Edit: also it has a beautiful yellowing to it.

The Pentium thing was just an inside joke to Fred, because an interim version of the Duke3D page listed "TOTAL PENTIUM SUPPORT. It's right there on the fuckin' box if you don't believe me!" as a feature. B)

I'm wondering if it would've been more effective to have reversed the "E" in "REALMS" and then just stuck a "D" directly beneath it. B)

Here's some feedback for you Frederik, don't just up and block someone because he's proven how big of liars and idiots you and your company are, that's completely unprofessional.

xMobilemus wrote a very harassing message on my personal facebook wall.
I do not tolerate that, no matter the context.

We are all professionals here - Let's start acting like it.
We are very exciting about the game we are about to reveal, but we do not tolerate harassing messages.

You sure did, but it's not there anymore cause Fred deleted it and blocked me, gotta love how professional he is.

Word needs to be spread about this, they're just using the remaining Duke hype for desperate attention.

Also think about the 3DR archive access, sounds like damage control preparation now.

I posted the truth, you're a liar, you stated you were well within your right to make a Duke game and even that you own the Duke IP, this game you're showing is obviously not a Duke game anymore and you're desperate for attention so you're using the hype, if you want respect Frederick then stop playing games, Jon St John obviously confirmed on that FB post he's not working with you on your current game.

Stop playing with us!

We have a zero tolerance police about personally harassing anyone on the team. No matter the context.
Whatever conspiracy theory you have about the game we are working on, can be discussed in a friendly tone, but once you start harassing our team and the game we are developing,
It will result in a block. It's as simple as that.

Now let's get this thread back on track.

You wanna know why it's getting to attacks, because we're sick and tired of being toyed with, look around on this forum and you'll see how annoyed Duke fans are with this constant teasing , countdown websites and blurred images of something that is clearly not Duke, right after all those claims regarding the Duke IP.

If you are in fact making a Duke game, I'll gladly apologize for calling you guys what you certainly appear to be right now, but until then you're guilty until proven innocent.
