The Sale & Free Thread "Post here when there's a sale for games that people here want to b"
#1 Posted 15 February 2014 - 03:55 AM
So instead of bumping random threads or starting new ones each time there's a big sale on Steam or GoG for the sorts of games that people on this forum would want to buy, just post them here.
For example, on GoG right now there's a huge Dungeons and Dragons sale as well as a Valentine's Multiplayer sale (both up to 80% off). That includes Duke 3D for $1.19, and ROTT 2013 for $2.99. You'll probably never get a better deal on this, especially on GoG.
There's just under 24 hours left so be sure to check it out in case any of the games there (and there are some pretty good ones on sale) tickle your fancy.

http://blog.gameagen...ameagent-users/ Free Borderlands 2 DLC here, seems to be getting overwhelmed though.
http://www.gamersgat...he-year-edition Speaking of Borderlands 2, the GOTY edition is half off here.
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/ If you're a filthy Origin user you can 50% off anything with the code "LOVE".
https://www.humblebundle.com/ Unsure how many people haven't seen but lots of Civilization stuff is bundled here.
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly If you want some walking simulators or want to please a plant sexually...
http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/B00CRN8WUI If you're an Amazon user, Crysis 3 is 92% off.
http://store.steampo....com/app/269210 A game that came out recently that I enjoy is half off. It's hard to recommend because it is a Game Maker title and the patches like to break a lot of stuff but watch some gameplay and see if it interests you. It is a bit "mindless" and sort of influenced by The Binding of Isaac.
That's all I can think of at the moment but I need to go to bed.

I think one of my younger brothers tried that many years ago. He came home from a night of drinking and he took a hit of "acid" for the first time. Its about 3am and my dad heard some noise coming from the back door hallway. When he got there to investigate, he saw my brother caressing and talking to my dad's large rubber tree plant. Who knows how far it might have gone if he wasn't interrupted.

I have tried about 5 times now to buy a game off Origin using both Credit Card and Paypal, both fail...
What the fuck is the point of this 50% code if I can't even use it?

I've got one coupon each for 75% off Shadow Warrior (2013) and Rise of the Triad (2013). I can't gift them, but I can trade them. So just send me a trade offer for any old thing on Steam if you'd like it.
#9 Posted 18 February 2014 - 07:28 PM
You can always give it to Trash Bot if you don't find anyone http://steamcommunity.com/id/trashbot
#10 Posted 18 February 2014 - 08:04 PM
^That is amazing. Shame it doesn't have anything I would trade for. At least now I was able to get rid of those coupons.

I have already said enough times already why people should get this, if they choose not to then that is their own dumb ass fault.

It seems, GOG caved in with region pricing. I wonder if said games are related to big publishers since GOG's stance on DRM always kept them away from big new releases.

Sooo... is this going to be more expensive or cheaper for places like Australia? Going on the general greed that publishers tend to have, I'll guess more expensive? And that's going to suck big time since they only accept USD which means we'll be paying even more on top of that due to the weaker Australian dollar.
I won't mind too much if it's just newer big games that I've never going to play, so as long as the old classics stay how they are, it's fine by me.

So... this thread has been sitting around all this time and nobody thought to mention the 75% off Ubisoft Weekend that's ending soon?
This is why this thread exists people! I didn't notice the sale until just now.

Whoops, forgot to say that the Amazon thing is for Americans only (or for people who fake a US Address )

Thanks for this thread guys! However, I got something that would help me personally, and probably some of the rest. I am not much of a gamer, so I don't follow games other than AAA/mainstream ones, I just play games and stick to them if I like them.
When posting something on sale, could you write a few words about it? (No need for the AAA games, as I do follow a bit, as mentioned above.)
Also, are there any Collectors edition worth buying? Most of 2013 CE are on sale now, so just wondering.
Thanks!

Poor thread.
https://www.humblebundle.com/devolver Megaton and Redux for a $1 minimum as well as some other stuff and more if you pay over $10. I suggest you look into why such a deal is going on at the moment.
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly Some casual Popcap classics for Steam and Origin
https://www.humblebundle.com/ If you have an Android device then these would be a great addition to it.

Now there's the kind of game sales I made this thread for
Thanks for bringing this up

I use http://www.indiegamebundles.com/ to review all bundles at once, there appears to be a new bundle site every 2-3 months, so this site helps me keep track.
Currently there's a big Rockstar games sale: http://digital.gamef...!/promotion/677
If anyone remembers DLH.net it was a site about PC cheats, walkthroughs, etc. It was recently re-designed and they offered a free steam copy of Enclave to anyone who registers.
I think it's still going on.

I'm afraid to do the Pot of Gold thing. I'm not particularly thrilled about any of the other offerings and I'm not really big on gambling money when I'm between jobs like I am now.
Also, to add to the sale thread:
Steam is having a Rockstar sale. I'm tempted by the Max Payne pack.

https://www.humblebu...tore/promo/sega Some Sega sales. Jet Set Radio and the Genesis Classics Collection is great even though it is missing the Sonic stuff. Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed is a great kart racer too.

Thought I would post that starting today you are able to get Dead Space for free on Origin. It's the first game to be released for the new On The House promo from EA, with more free games to come. If you're interested then this deal is free until the 9th of May.
