Hope this will help to promote the project. If someone has account there, please help me and rate the game

This is the real difference between borrowing ideas and actually creating something every person who considers himself creative in some way should keep in mind. The point is that you had overrated your previous success in projects such as STH3D and Slender's Woods. When making projects inspired by existing well-received games, you are crediting those who created the original game. Only a tiny portion of attention your project gets is your personal achievement. Now it's time to make it clear. Time to kick some ass. One has to do a tremendous amount of work to release a fully original game which would be widely recognized. But I'm very glad that you've done something that isn't based on an existing story, so keep it up!

This is not the first time it happens. He previously tried to take down my other games. I tried to contact the mods, saying that he is obviously a troll, but they only removed fake accounts and didn't touch the guy, saying that he has unique IP.
Can someone please help me? This guy stalks me for about a year, and nobody does a damn thing about it.
Edit: Ok, he got banned, Thank God.

Oh, and no more games. I call it quits. I feel like I've wasted years of my life for nothing, and I hope you enjoyed the crap what I've been making for the past six years. I'm sorry.

I would be interested to know exactly what kind of feedback you got. You shouldn't quit.

Edit : but c'mon now, you can't except everybody to like your stuff. And to be honest, you can't really claim they are original, either.
This being said, you shouldn't stop yourself because of criticism. By making mods aimed at an audiance bigger than our usual DN3D usermap playersbase, more criticism had to be expected. Take it like a man, and instead of letting it beat you up, use it as a strength to work on stuff you like to work on.
Also I believe you were wrong in the previous page when complaining you 'only' got 550 downloads in a few days. This remains an eduke32 mod. 550 downloads in a few more days is a LOT more than anyone can dream of. You can call that a success if you associate success with a download counter.
You can't compare it with Slender Woods, either. Its ammount of downloads didn't come from the fact that it was an eduke32 mod, or that it was made by you. It was thanks to Slenderman.

Step away from the game for a while, and when you come back I'd suggest going back to basics and making some duke mods, rather than relying on an incredibly fickle audience for gratification. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I won't lie when I say the first time I read this post I thought it was a joke. The thing to remember is that even though many of your games are based on popular concepts, which made them much more visible to the public (and yes perhaps made some people a bit biased towards thinking they're better than they are), it's a fact that if the games weren't fun and just overall great, they just wouldn't be played that much. If the games were crap, nobody would play them even if they were based on popular concepts. However people did play them and enjoy them, which leads me to believe that they might be good after all
I don't see anything hugely negative in that 4chan thread, other than a few people considering TMRDF unoriginal. For all I know maybe I only enjoyed it because it was a fresh experience for me as I've never played anything like it before, it's hard to tell, I have no idea what other stuff is out there like it. The mod did have me thinking about some of the metaphors a few days after I played it, and if anybody else did the same, then the mod is a success, even if some people hate it. You can never please everyone.
James' advice is pretty good though, maybe take a break and put things in perspective. Modding is 90% having fun making stuff in the creative process and only 10% witnessing the fruits of your labour. TBH If you're not doing it for the fun of creating, then perhaps you are wasting your time, regardless of whether the project is a mega hit or not. All the more reason for a break I suppose.
Well you know what they say; when you fall off the horse, you get back on. I wouldn't mind seeing some more traditional duke mods from you further down the track, and I'd hate to see you give up modding all together just because of a few outspoken randoms on the internet that you're never going to meet. If it means anything, I still intend to finish that Quake TC level I started a while back as soon as polymer is optimized.

some critisisms tho
some of the sounds ate a bite of the ambience (the wind outside was a bit loud and the doors slamming behind you, also the music and stuff changed a bit too much from room to room which is a big deal because you were only in each room for a few seconds so it was too much change)
also the mask fight at the end didnt grab the intensity i feel it was supposed to, it ended up being more fustrating to find the thing (until i realized it was ALWAYS right behind me

u r legit responsible for most of my favorite duke nukem maps, (a sequel to mindstorm would.....well storm my mind) and a dream? that was awsome
i like bizarre things, things that free me from my boring reality, i want to live in a world where triangles have a billion sides the air tastes like purple and everytime you see the color green the orbits of the planets change while the people in my mirror try to kill me
you are one of the few sources of bizarreity (not a word im aware) that satisfies this urge on a regular basis, keep on keepin on!
