Interesting yes, but still a bit on the basic side and lacks different shading on adjacent walls, making it look flat.

St1llWanted is my friend and a moderator in my steam group :) He is getting better at mapping I would have to say he has grown quite fast in learning. Of course he has more to learn but this map is pretty darn good for someone who has been mapping for only 3 months.

I removed one of my maps from top rated page 1 on workshop that I feel didn't belong there it was my first map post "Duke64Ever" a dm only map and pretty much my learn some shit map well I just feel it's really out of place just like a few others that are there it was posted upon the release of workshop so it got alot of ratings being one of the only ones available. Anyway it had 80 ratings and I believe it will no longer appear there.

I just thought this would be a nice gesture here save some room for a map that might actually belong there I did not do it so other people might follow in removing there maps. I simply made the map "hidden" which i think means it's still playable as long as you already have it which well anyone who plays with me already has it so its a low sacrifice and high reward for someone else if the workshop means anything. I personally think forges map eat the rich(since its so close to page 1) should be there or cbp beach.

i personally could care less about the steam popularity contest.

it used to be about the map, now it's about who your friends are

when i go there, i set it to display "latest release", grab what i want and leave.

Yeah the system is bad and unfair. One 'like' for a map that you find good equals 1 'like' for a map that you find great. Same result.
Not to mention it's misleading as well, someone getting there for the first time might think people get to rate maps 1 out of 5 stars while it's just the number of likes.

Well I not looking at it as a popularity contest I just think if users browse top rated they should see quality and well Duke64Ever was not quality at least to me has a cool map name but it was simply a box with a middle castle room with stretched textures everywhere and I even left a few textures at texture 0 lol . I think I should change my name over the weekends to DRUNK64 hehe I can be real idiot or a real genius and I wouldn't know xD

Well it's not what everybody does, some people actually check top rated when they come to Megaton. Especially the people who are new to Megaton, new to Duke 3D, or those who aren't as involved as us in the Duke world but still enjoy playing the game. They just want to play a few user maps on 3D for the day and why not go check top rated. Whether this is nice of me to do or if someones happy I did it, that's not why I did it. The map was very fun dm but was made poorly and when I go look at top rated I don't want to see it, hell I don't want to see it near Davox stadium map it doesn't fit at all makes me feel disgusted and does not belong just like a few others. I remove for my own personal reason but it also removes a map for others to any who would have a care.

I don't think it's really a popularity contest but there are guys who will try to shut you down give you negative ratings be jealous spread lies and rumors and such because they want some kind of "fame" but if it's a good map well then nothing can stop it. Sure having group of friends that can't wait and anticipate to play your new map helps but if I was to post Duke64Ever today I am willing to bet it would never get near 80 ratings. Some people do care for quality on steam workshop/Megaton and so do I, not everyone there should be viewed as a mindless dickhead just because it has a few of those xD

Very clever DM level. In my opinion, the level design here is pure genious. Can't wait for more maps from this guy.

Yeah that map was good me and Duke64 played but kind of crazy and jam packed not much room. Plus the area with atomic health and RPG is over powered if you want to win here just stay in that room. Trust me you will win staying there, while the map looks good it's not that good to play on.

I've had a look now and I hadn't seen the map before you posted it here. Why would I downvote it?

Don't ask me doooood, I don't know if it means you downvoted or if it means you have some kind of power over the workshop as the author has suggested before and are a suspect for. But I am going to have to say one thing, if you had anything to do with the ratings I would most likely have more negatives then positives. But who knows huh

Moderators, Officers and even Steam developers can't change the amount of votes/downvotes an item has on the workshop. I have explained several times before that the star system on the workshop is based on the total votes, and not just positive/negative votes. An item on the workshop won't get any stars until it has at least 25 votes in which it will have the default 3 star rating until it gets more positive votes (which I think is about 50 to go 4 star although I haven't touched Workshop related content for a long while so I don't fully remember).
