Ok this is whats up. I just bought the Atomic edition from steam and was trying to run eDuke and it wont give me the updated graphics. Ok I copy and pasted my duke3d.grp file into my folder I installed eDuke in and the game will start up with the options to pick Atomic and all the add-ons. I put the resolution up have it on trilinear, put it to x16 and said yes to everything but when I go to play it nothing has changed. I tried different settings with no luck. Just so you know I do have the newest updated eDuke32 that is supposed to work with the steam version. I'v been looking all day for an answer with no luck please someone help me thanks.

By "updated graphics" you meant the High-Resolution Pack? You are meant to download it separately.

Yup that's the one I downloaded. I may see a few improvements (even though it could just be the Atomic improvements) but for the most part everything still looks like the old Duke 3d classic. What should things look like because they do not look like the screenshots in the media section? I checked the MD5 to make sure it was the correct file and everything checks out.

In the game directory should be an eduke32.log file, please post it here as it would probably show the source of the problem. If you know how to , then please do it using spoiler tags.

I think I know the problem. When I open eDuke the window is not opening enough to see the options at the bottom. How can I post a screenshot so I can show you what I'm talking about? But if you do under stand how do I make the window bigger? It wont let me scroll or anything.

You have to choose a smaller sized font in Windows and the box should display in full.

That worked perfectly only thing is I cant see my icons on a 50 inch TV that is 6 feet away lol but I guess this will work to change the settings then go back to large icons. Well it looks like everything is working as it should thanks so much for yawls' help maybe this will help someone in the future

Actually, you just need to download a current version of EDuke32... the font size problem was fixed months ago.
