I can attest to this, being banned from multiple IRC chatrooms for no reason other than "I just don't like you".

TX didn't ban for no reason and the "I do it cause I want to" is him actually being gentler and more polite than the alternative explanation.

When someone starts taking things outside the board to drum up support/attention then they've taken it to a different level and can expect a different level of reaction.

The politeness of civilization is an illusion. If someone wants to start testing the boundaries of how far they can push... they shouldn't be surprised when they hit a wall where they realize they've only been getting away with it is because others were quietly and politely restraining themselves when they could have smacked the smile off their face long ago.

Ultimately it has to be understood that forums aren't a democracy, they're more like a monarchy (I did want to say dictatorship but that sounds too melodramatic and negative) Somebody has to pay the bills to host the place and if that person (or a person they trust) decides they don't like you here, than you're shit out of luck.

The guy, while I didn´t like him, has not said anything more than what he thought. People are entittled to their own opinions, and I don´t think he ever crossed the line.

I can see TX baning him to relieve the tension about this mod. But IMO that´s like killing the other team´s players so you have the match won beforehand.

Honestly, I would love this project to be real. It would be fun to see an interactive portrayal of the 2001 DNF trailer, with a nice Demake touch. Hell, i'm a huge fan of Demakes. I just wished people understood that things are exactly made to be 'pretty' like everyone assumes. So many PC gamers stand on the proud pedestal of 'We have the best graphics'. It shows, especially with those sad comments from the folks that asked why this wasn't done in UDK. Whats worse, console gamers, or PC Graphic Whores?

I've said it time and time again, but I will continue saying it: 3D graphics are totally overrated. The technology is cool, and there are some really good looking games out there. But you can making amazing looking shit with what is limited technology by today's standards. There are just some things that can't be done in 3D gaming (yet.) Or perhaps no one gives a shit to, I could always be incorrect. I don't mind playing a game that looks like this because while it's not uber realistic modern grafix, it is very aesthetically pleasing and stylized.

i agree, and he's the one who made it ugly when he graduated from calling into question the reality of the existence of the mod to actually attacking the character of the people involved in the mod and those who backed them up (i.e. he pretty much said Mikko, Gambini, Tx, Tropper Dan, etc. were a bunch of trolling liars, and he was prepared to go farther, evidenced with the thread at the other forum, until he got tossed out.)

It's been a while since anyone has talked about the mod itself, so I'll say a few things on that topic. What the mod consists of is a new episode that contains some new content (art, enemies, etc.) but leaves the original content intact. So it can be thought of as expansion pack to the original game. Imagine if there had been a fifth episode released shortly after the fourth, and you get the idea. If people expect it to feel like a new game they will be disappointed; it's the vanilla game with a modest amount of new content added on. I expect it will be released soon, since it is playable now and is in the polishing stage (and has been for a while), but there is no specific release date.
