The part in brackets was added in so it would make more sense. George didn't actually say "where are they now" out of that whole quote he only said pieces.

Well, "pieces" could be referring to his Twitter updates, because all they are is just small pieces of info about the game. Let's hope George "breaks out of his Twitter updates soon and unveils!"

No, the "[where are they now] pieces" phrase obviously refers to articles about vapourware products.
As in: "you remember those guys that released a cool game 13 years ago and have been working on a successor for almost that long - where are they now?".

That's not exactly true. The last time Steve was acting up and hyping us, we got the pic of the task database. I'm not saying that will happen again, but who knows.
