Truly meme songs are a thing to be feared.

Immolation - Close to a World Below
I like how non-generic they are in the genre, mostly because of the distinctive and creative guitars. And the vocals are just what I wanna hear in death metal.

I love it too.
BTW, this track you linked was the first metal song I ever learned to cover. Immolation are my favorite death metal band.
Edit: I see now you linked the whole album, but yeah, I meant the title track. Love their anti-Christianity stance also.

Guthrie Govan is a mastermind genius. He improvised this solo in one take. What a mind and a pair of hands.

Hah, now that's a coincidence! They're very good indeed, although I really started listening to them only last year after seeing them live two times. It's great they can steadily release albums of good quality for almost 30 years, but from what I've heard so far, their last one, "Atonement", seems to be my favourite. "Lower" is such a catchy, sing along track
Now listening:

ATM I'm into proto-death metal. You know, that time period where death metal was still new and a lot of thrash metal bands incorporated aspects of it without going totally to the other side.
Stuff like this:

Heh, thanks, man. I would expect more people to be into extreme metal on a game forum TBH.
Currently listening to one of my favourite songs, probably listened to this song (and the whole album - it's awesome) more than anything last year, despite it being about 12 minutes. It's a shame I actually just started to appreciate this album so late, even though I've been a fan of "Dynasty of Death" for years.

That is an amazing solo (the one on 'Ancestral' is really good as well).
Hand.cannot.erased is one of my favorite records of the past decade, nice to see I'm not the only one who likes it.
One of my favorite current prog metal bands is Haken. Really good stuff.

Very much like the more palpable john cage pieces.
