Pretty disappointed with this new port, (at least, with the PC version) mainly because it no longer allows loading custom PODs (whereas the OG release did), and the existing PODs seem to be another format or maybe even encrypted.
At least it'll hopefully tide people over until some day that I can finish my source port... (I honestly don't know when I'll have time to get around to it again. NetDuke32 and Ion Fury takes up all of my time)

I have bought the Boosted Edition yesterday. It's quite OK, even though I think resolution could be a bit higher than 480p. Optional bilinear filtering would have been nice, too. And they indeed use a new format for their POD files. While SLADE3 can open original game data, it fails with the Boosted Edition. At least so far.
However, it IS possible to load custom PODs still. Remarkably, you may even run Fury3 and F!Zone with this. Setting it up it a bit tricky (most importantly, you gotta create two ini files in your Documents root (!) folder), but apparently all levels are fully playable. If there's general interest, I can post instructions together with the basic files to make it work.

Yeah, I'd like to see those instructions, because I attempted using the knowledge I had from the original versions to no avail.

I got the setup from Vogons.
However, there are a few caveats:
- Fury3 assets will overwrite some TV assets (e.g. the exit portal). Best workaround I found is to hack the exe file to make a separate one and just load the Fury3 missions. Otherwise, only do this after you are done with all of the TV missions.
- The mission briefings are a bit glitched since the text won't fully fit into the display section of the briefing. Some letters get "stuck" on the side. That's minor, though.
- It's not 100% stable. In some mission you will have a hard time to avoid crashes. At least the Fury3 campaign is completable.
- F!Zone didn't really work for me. In the very first level, I was never able to reach my target (distance never went down) and eventually crashed to desktop without a warning.
For your convenience, I have attached a custom version I've made for myself which makes setup as easy as possible. How to:
- Copy fury3.exe (hacked TV executable) to your TV dir
- Extract the "Terminal_Velocity_Boosted_Edition" folder with the two ini files into our Documents dir (ini files must reside in the root directory, won't work otherwise)
- Place game data (fury3.pod and optionally also furyse.pod) in the "Terminal_Velocity_Boosted_Edition" folder
- If you just have Fury3, edit dat.ini and furyse.ini accordingly (remove furyse.pod/furyse.vox lines and reduce number at the top by 1)

Here's a video showing where TerminalFury is at currently. Still a loooong way to go, but I just want to show that I'm still working on it now and then.

Another update since that video: I now have text wrapping up and functional, so the issue with the navigational computer having text spill over the edge is now resolved.
Next on my list are bright pixel support and fixing the automap.

WOW, I didn't realize the mod was this far along. Looking way cool. The fog/visibility and graphics looks good. Its been decades since I played the original and Decent and I don't remember being able to hover in place. Am I mis-remembering? It was always moving forward which made it so much more difficult.

Thanks, it has been a long road to get it to this point. Glad you like it.
BTW, It's not a mod but a full source port. Also, you could always hover in place in Hellbender. Terminal Velocity and Fury3 were the ones where you always had some level of movement.

Got bright pixel (and custom brightmap) support working. The OpenGL renderer has feature parity with the software renderer now.
